The original PC sensation that started it all! We've brought it back in all its virginal glory! The world was a much simpler place in 1995. The kids were listening to the grunge, the first test-tube gorilla was born at the Cincinnati Zoo, and a little trivia game called YOU DON’T KNOW JACK took the interactive CD-ROM trivia game show...

Они были правы, я, вправду, не знаю вашего Джека.
They need to remaster these for online play. It holds up surprisingly well for being a 29 year old trivia game. There are questions here and there that make it feel dated but overall it's the best trivia game on the market. If you have friends willing to play locally and share the keyboard as a buzzer its far more fun than you'd imagine.
Once upon a time, there was a boy who travelled the world in search for knowledge and life experience. For close to 30 years he engaged in higher learning, met people from all walks of life, and expanded his horizons. People in his social circles thought this boy – now a man – learn to satiate his seemingly boundless curiosity. Little did they know that he harbours a dark secret. For you see, this man’s inquisitiveness is driven by his ambition to prove that he knows Jack. The first several times in his youthful days he tried to show he knows Jack, he was humbled. Humiliated, he embarked on a scholarly journey to better himself; and now, he has returned to prove his mettle. Upon seeing Jack again decades later, the man was nervous. Would his many years of training be all for naught? Just as he had feared, his first attempt in demonstrating he knows Jack did not go well. He had forgot how snarky and snide Jack could be. Undeterred, the man regained his composure and tried proving himself again. Two rounds of questioning plus a final challenge later, the man succeeded – he proved he knows Jack! Though his triumph did not leave Jack speechless – something he doubted Jack would ever be – the man walked away with his head held up high. Years of training had paid off and the battle was won! Just as the man was about to call it a day, he heard a voice call to him, “You may know the first Jack, but do you know the second?” The man smirked in response and muttered to himself, “There’s another Jack? Interesting…”
Ah yes, the first ever YDKJ game! I'm WAY younger than this game and don't have nostalgia for it because I didn't even know it existed until February of 2024 but I used to hate trivia games until I played YDKJ! It's very fun (even alone, which I 100% do play alone lmao) and I might not be TOO good at it but it's fun anyway for the humor and dialogue! I actually love this game (and series) so much I bought physical cds of this and Volumes 1, 2, 3, Television, The Ride, and Offline! Also for being a trivia game the music goes hard for absolutely no reason. FAIR WARNING HOWEVER. The "F**k you" easter egg in this version is CENSORED. The original response from the host to that during a Gibberish Question is altered to lack him swearing and its nowhere near as funny as the original. Anyway to end this review, the host, Nate Shapiro, is hot and I wanna kiss him tbh. I love you Nate Shapiro <333
Gave this a shot since I got all the old games in a cheap bundle. Obviously this is very dated now given the original release date, but this is still pretty entertaining. The newer games/format are vastly superior, but it's good to see where the origins of the game comes from.
For younger people: your mileage may vary on the pop culture references. For those who first played on the Vol. 1 CD-ROM: The question segues and fake commercials in this game have more content than the original did. Not sure how to have the game run in full screen. Overall a great game that I recommend for any trivia game fan.
The one mistake a trivia game can't make is to get the answers wrong. I played this game for a little under two hours, and noted seven answers that were just plain wrong. Thinking that I might be misremembering or misinformed, I looked them up. At least six of the answers were absolutely wrong, like the wrong title of a song or name of a city, and the last one was barely debatable. Again, this is one thing that a trivia game just can't do. It made me wonder if it was the person writing the questions and answers weren't the ones who really didn't know Jack.
