About
A terrifying killer clown terrorizes a teenager and his family on Halloween Eve.
You play as a stubborn teenager. Your parents punished you and locked you in your room. They called a nanny to keep an eye on you.
It's night outside, Halloween is in full swing, and on TV there is a report about a maniac in a clown costume who escaped from prison...
Hi all! My name is Romooll and I am 14 years old. This is my first experience in developing a game and I really hope you like it. When creating the game, I collected all my teenage experiences and fears, added a little of myself to the main character and tried to create a truly creepy atmosphere for the game on Halloween.
Immerse yourself in this dark story and try to survive the terrible night with the main character. Experience all the horror that a person can experience in such a situation and try not to scream in fear.
In the game you will have to find and use different things and carefully follow the plot clues. Listen to what the characters say and move forward in the story./u]

Неплохой коротенький хоррор с парой неплохих скримеров ну и типа "неожиданной" концовкой. В целом нормально на вечерок.
You Are Grounded puts you in the shoes of a defiant 14-year-old who, unwilling to accept punishment, sneaks out of his room for a beer—unknowingly setting off a chain of terrifying events. The story wastes no time escalating: you overhear a news broadcast about a killer on the loose, only to hear your babysitter scream moments later. The lights go out, the atmosphere thickens, and your objective becomes simple—survive the night. The game embraces a compact but effective narrative structure. You're confined to a small home environment, searching for fuses in the dark while the threat of an intruder looms constantly. It’s a classic setup, but the execution carries it. Jump scares are well-timed, and tension builds naturally through sound cues and lighting rather than cheap tricks. Where You Are Grounded really shines is its sound design and voice work. Every character and phone call is voice-acted, which adds a layer of personality and polish not always present in indie horror titles. Environmental sounds are carefully handled—gravel crunching under tires, a garage door creaking open, the scrape of pumpkin carving, and distant, unsettling laughter all contribute to a rich soundscape. The plot concludes with a solid twist—
your father, long absent from the story, is revealed to be the killer and knows exactly where you're hiding. It’s a well-executed turn that brings a sharp and personal edge to the horror, giving the game a memorable closing note.
You Are Grounded doesn’t stretch far beyond genre conventions, but it nails the essentials. Strong voice acting, immersive audio, and a well-paced structure make it a standout in the short-form horror space. For a tight, focused experience that delivers effective scares and a surprise ending, it’s absolutely worth a playthrough. —The Ember Archives https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45601239/

This game is great and might have one of the best jump scares for an indie horror game. It got me multiple times. I really liked them, and the riddle that came up later has been something you don't really see in games. So would I recommend it ? Yes, I would recommend it, but I still have to criticize a few things. The idea of the story is absolutely great, but it doesn't really get explained in the end, which was a bit sad imo. You also don't have any overlay that tells you what to do "next". So you have to pay close attention to what's been said or else you'll miss it and won't know what to do and run around like a dumbo - until you, by chance, find out what to do. watch my playthrough on YT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP8GoLyXvQ0
It's not a bad little title. There's some issues with flow and triggering to continue forward and that does pad the time a little bit. He's also a 14 year old drinking, smoking, lockpicking punk so he had it coming anyways! :)
Fun Game!
You Are Grounded is a first-person psychological horror game developed and published by Romooll and REVVALUTION Studio that delivers a focused and atmospheric horror experience built around fear, isolation, and the unsettling feeling of being trapped when danger is drawing closer. While many horror games rely heavily on action or elaborate mechanics, this title chooses a more intimate approach, placing players in a familiar domestic setting that gradually transforms into a nightmare. The result is a compact but effective horror adventure that combines suspenseful storytelling, exploration, and psychological tension into a memorable experience. The story begins with a situation that feels surprisingly ordinary. A rebellious teenager has been punished by his parents and confined to his room while they leave him under the supervision of a nanny. At first, the situation seems like a typical family dispute, but the atmosphere changes dramatically when news reports begin discussing an escaped killer clown roaming the area during Halloween night. What starts as frustration over being grounded slowly develops into a fight against fear as strange events begin to unfold and the threat outside becomes impossible to ignore. One of the game's greatest strengths is how effectively it uses anticipation. Rather than constantly overwhelming players with immediate danger, it gradually builds unease through environmental storytelling, subtle clues, and an increasing sense that something is terribly wrong. Every hallway, room, and dark corner feels potentially dangerous because the game carefully cultivates uncertainty. Players are rarely allowed to feel completely safe, even during moments when nothing obvious is happening. The Halloween setting contributes significantly to the overall atmosphere. Decorations, dimly lit environments, and references to the holiday help establish a mood that feels both familiar and unsettling. Halloween naturally carries associations with costumes, masks, and horror stories, making the presence of an escaped clown particularly effective. The game takes advantage of these cultural fears and uses them to create tension without requiring elaborate worldbuilding. Exploration serves as the primary gameplay mechanic. Players investigate their surroundings, search for useful items, uncover clues, and gradually piece together the events unfolding around them. The game emphasizes awareness and observation over direct confrontation. This design choice strengthens the feeling of vulnerability because players are not presented as powerful heroes capable of fighting every threat. Instead, survival depends on paying attention and making careful decisions. The game's sound design deserves special recognition. Horror often relies on audio to create fear, and You Are Grounded uses this technique effectively. Distant noises, subtle environmental sounds, and moments of eerie silence all contribute to the atmosphere. Players frequently find themselves reacting to sounds before they see any actual danger, which helps maintain suspense throughout the experience. The audio presentation constantly encourages players to remain alert and question what may be lurking nearby. Visually, the game succeeds in creating a believable and oppressive environment. The locations feel grounded enough to be relatable while still becoming increasingly unsettling as the story progresses. Lighting plays an especially important role, with shadows and limited visibility frequently obscuring what lies ahead. The game understands that fear often comes from what players cannot see rather than what is directly presented to them. Another notable aspect of the project is its personal nature. Created by a young developer inspired by childhood fears and classic horror concepts, the game possesses an authenticity that helps distinguish it from many formulaic horror releases. The fears explored throughout the experience feel rooted in common anxieties surrounding isolation, punishment, and helplessness. This perspective gives the game a unique identity and allows certain moments to resonate more strongly than they otherwise might. The pacing remains one of the title's strongest qualities. Because the game is relatively short, it avoids unnecessary filler and maintains focus on its core horror concepts. New developments arrive frequently enough to sustain interest, while the gradual escalation of tension ensures that the experience never loses momentum. The concise runtime also prevents the scares and atmosphere from becoming repetitive, allowing the game to conclude before its central ideas begin to lose impact. Psychological horror elements are used effectively throughout the story. Rather than depending entirely on jump scares, the game frequently relies on uncertainty and imagination. Players spend much of their time questioning whether they are truly safe and trying to determine how serious the threat has become. This mental tension often proves more effective than direct horror because it encourages players to participate in creating their own fear. The game does have limitations. Its short duration means there is limited room for deeper character development or extensive narrative complexity. Some players may wish for additional gameplay mechanics or a larger environment to explore. Replay value is also somewhat restricted once the story's major events have been experienced. However, these issues are understandable given the project's scale and focus. What ultimately makes You Are Grounded successful is its understanding of atmosphere. The game recognizes that effective horror often comes from placing ordinary people in extraordinary situations and allowing fear to develop naturally. By combining a relatable premise, strong audio design, careful pacing, and an unsettling setting, it creates a horror experience that feels surprisingly effective despite its modest scope. For players who enjoy psychological horror, short narrative-driven thrillers, and suspense-focused indie games, You Are Grounded provides a tense and entertaining experience. Its Halloween-inspired setting, effective use of sound, and steadily building sense of dread create a memorable adventure that delivers exactly what it promises. While it may not be the longest horror game available, it succeeds in leaving a lasting impression through atmosphere, tension, and a strong understanding of what makes fear effective. Rating: 8/10

✔️ on Stream gezockt ⭐ Bewertung 5/10 📺 www.twitch.tv/giftigescookie
This game is very very very very very very very very very very very very scary and fun, It's one of the best horror games I've ever played, and it's worth every dollar you spend on it. But the only problem is that some places don't know where to go, so I hope they fix this issue and tell you what to do.
