Yomi

This is a great implementation of a wonderful card game. Some of the best money I've spent on Steam, as there is so much replayability with this game, and the AI is fun and challenging to play against. I just wish I had more friends in real life who were interested in delving deep into Yomi bc it really rewards careful study and dedicated play before you really get comfortable with a character. They all play so differently, yet it's very balanced. It's so rewarding when you come from behind to win against all odds. Really thrilling game!

Достойная адаптация великолепной игры. Отличная дуэльная игра на блеф. Если упрощенно, то это очень сильно навроченная версия камень-ножницы-бумага. Атаки бьют броски, броски бьют блоки и увороты, увороты и блоки бьют атаки, джокер бьёт атаку и бросок. И ещё несколько десятков нюансов на которых строятся комбо, разрешаются ничьи и прочее. Всё вместе играется очень интересно. С дополнением в игре получается 20 действительно уникальных персонажей, каждый со своими механиками. Всё это играется очень весело, азартно и динамично. Ты действительно получаешь ощущения, как от файтинга, но только в замедленном качестве, в виде пошаговых действий, все те диллемы, которые в файтинге решаются на реакции, здесь разрешаются на уровне некоих игр разума. Всем рекомендую хотябы попробовать.

Hideous interface looking like a 00’s browser game. Online has long since died but AI and friends are viable. Useful tutorial. Cool characters with distinguishable play styles. Mechanics do a great job of emulating a fighting game using an attack, throw, block priority triangle with assigned speeds and combo potential. It’s guesswork with layers.

Yomi is, probably, the most elegant card game ever. Despite planting its roots in the most basic Rock-Paper-Scissors mechanics, Yomi is a game of skill, where the better player usually prevails, but also giving a chance to the underdog to rise. In Yomi you can pick one out of 20 (10 in the base pack + 10 in the expansion) characters with their own pre-built decks: this means that all the player is asked to do is to pick between one (or multiple) of them and master it, learn its inside outs and what your character does against every other character. Most importantly, you'll need to start to "yomi", which is fighting game lingo for "read", your opponent, and find out what card they are going to play. After this, when you get to the higher levels, you'll start making your opponent believe they got you yomi'd and eventually exploit their belief to turn the tides. You'll never know everything there is to know about Yomi, but you'll always be learning about this awesome game.
