A very clever card battler based around a very complex version of rock-paper-scissors. Each player, using characters with their own unique skills and perks, face-off in a series of individual rock-paper-scissor like encounters using a single card from their hand. Block/Dodge > Attack > Throw > Block/Dodge. If both players play an Attack or they both play a Throw, the speeds are compared and the quickest wins the encounter. If the player successfully lands and Attack or Throw, they might even be able to add in some additional cards to form a combo. There are all sorts of exceptions to the above rules a via the various character abilities, but this is the gist of gameplay. Characters trade blows back and forth until 1 of them is brought below 0 (it is even possible for both players to simultaneously knock out one another, but this is VERY rare).
The game involves having the need to read what your opponent thinks, hence the name Yomi. Sometimes it might seem as if you only throw cards and hope for the best-- but it does most of the time. If you play your cards perfectly and predict your opponent, you can win games without taking damage. Low value cards(like 2 or 3) are easier to hit the opponent with but deals low damage. High Value cards are the opposite, high risk, high reward. Passive character abilities are what makes the game fun to play, especially with the Flagstone Magistrate that allows your to flip your card, putting your opponent in a mixup. If only the game spent a little more time improving the UI and scaling. It looks bad if you're using a monitor with a resolution bigger than 1080x1440.
Yomi is a card game that tries to simulate a fighting game. + Nice graphics, fine music (although I mute it when I play, it stresses me). It may not seem like it, but the more you play, the more attached you get to the characters :) + The fighting game aspect is relatively well simulated and it's one of the few games around that tries to do this. +/- Empty matchmaking. There are discords to ask for matches though, but you may not get them instantly. Besides, there is also a running tournament on the Sirlin games forum. +/- Suddently gets a lot of depth if you want to play seriously. You will have to read and understand your opponent's character card to know what kind of gameplay you can expect from them and adapt accordingly to prevent them from using their abilities / cards correctly. - Not entirely faithful to a fighting game. I mostly blame the lack of punishment on dragon punches or attacks with a low startup, as well as block-punishing not being a thing... (heard the next version of Yomi corrects that) I personally enjoy the game a lot playing it casually against the bot. You'll be warned though - the game has a lot of depth if you're going against other players so get ready for lotsa hand-guessing (and some mindgames).
This is the worst card game of all time. Don't ever waste your time on this heaping pile of garbage. The creator has no talent. That other free to play game he made was a lost cause. Don't bother picking this one up. Stop making video games you'd do this world a favor.

I've played every card game on the market. Yomi is singly the most underrated one of them all. This game had been made by a team motivated by nothing other than to create the best fight themed PVP card game ever and it shows
Not for me
