YAKUZA KIWAMI 3 is an extreme remake of the action-adventure beat 'em up Yakuza 3 featuring ex-yakuza Kazuma Kiryu's fight to protect those he loves. DARK TIES is a brand-new game featuring Yoshitaka Mine from Yakuza 3 included as a separate action-packed experience.

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 4.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 6: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Bland, soulless and uninspired. Of course the Mine's retcon is bad but what was really crazy was the Ubisoft level of enshitification the main campaign went through. How many substories were scratched for rehashed mini-games from recent releases to be added instead. I doubt RGG studios will recover from what is unfortunately pretty common in niche franchises finally making it big, but it pains me to see this beloved series turning into this. I blame the daidoji.
Big fan of the series... ...this wasn't it.
the game forces you to do a biker minigame. now thats fine if i didnt have to spend 6 hours just leveling up the girls so they dont instantly die on me. you have no other options it is mandotory to leave the island. all and all this part has ruined the rest of the game for me.
The only game I can say I regret purchasing from the series is Yakuza Kiwami 3, if you want combat and story, genuinely go play lost judgement until these people regain the vision they once had. (buy the boxing dlc if you want easy combos, I know i'm a hypocrite for telling you to buy a dlc but its worth ) Besides that. SEGA please quit retconning ♥♥♥♥.
while the combat is an improvement every other aspect is lacking so in conclusion buy this if you care about combat only (also the combat is missing many attacks and heat actions, furthermore at the end the retcon is really bad)
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii
Can money buy everything?

Pros
The Kiwami version of an entry in the series that everyone loves and probably dislikes at the same time, which lost part of its soul in the re-release... But didn't get worse. It's just new-school Yakuza rather than old-school. The storytelling was changed to improve the pacing, making the segment focused on the development of relationships with each child at the orphanage optional, which was a great decision (those who play the original on Legend will understand). Overall, the world itself has improved, and you can see a huge number of QoL improvements from the Kiwami games. The engine allows for beautiful visuals, and surprisingly, this entry has the best combat system for Kiryu at the time of writing this review, perhaps even comparable to the old one in some ways, although it still lacks the same depth in certain areas. But the Dragon of Dojima style has evolved for the first time in many years, which was a real surprise, and that's without even mentioning the addition of a new weapon-based style. Gangs, new activities, everything is woven into the narrative really well, just like in the other entries in the series. Nothing feels disconnected, and it adds great variety to the gameplay. Substories have been cut from 100+ to 30. This is probably the right decision: 2/3 of the original's substories were forgettable, and they essentially kept the most interesting ones with new ones.
Mixed
One mixed point is the final post-credits scene, which shattered the overall picture of the series and may have changed its direction too much. Whether that's good or bad, we'll find out in Kiwami 4 and 5, if they happen. The decision isn't exactly unexpected, considering who we can meet in 7 and 8, but it's still unclear. It's hard to call this a definite con, considering that it's still difficult to judge its impact on the series. Apart from this moment, the entire story is taken from the original, which raises no questions until the end of the game. And the loss of battle lines form bosses, I don't know, that's more of a neutral point than a definite con, but it's a very strange decision. You seem to be doing everything really well, but for some reason you cut such a seemingly basic part. I don't know whether the issue was technical, but there doesn't seem to be any other explanation for this loss.
Cons
Surprisingly, one of the cons is one of the series' greatest strengths: the music. The remixes of the original tracks are very puzzling, and each track seems to lose the meaning it was originally given. You probably won't feel this way if you haven't played the original, but it feels like they should have kept the original tracks. Even the new fly has become too aggressive, probably like all the tracks in the game, which perhaps wasn't the right thing to do. From Joji to Juan if you understand what it's mean.
Ratings

Gameplay: 9/10
Story and storytelling: 9/10 (7/10 if you take the post-credits scene into account)
Graphics and visual design: 9/10
Audio: 3/10 (7 if you haven't played the original)
Technical state: 10/10

Dark Ties
A great expansion that explores Mine's story and how he became who he is. Certain moments raise a few questions, but they don't spoil the overall picture. The music is excellent, as if it were made by different people, since Kiwami 3 has problems in that part. The overall rating for the game also applies to this expansion.
Final
The game is definitely worth checking out for fans or newcomers who want to play the third entry but are put off by the old engine and the combat of the legendary Blockuza. The entire game is practically flawless up until the ending, apart from the music, and that counts for a lot. And there's also the chance to learn Mine's story. If you want to play Yakuza and remember plot, it’s better not to read other people’s opinions but to form your own.
