YAKUZA KIWAMI 3 is an extreme remake of the action-adventure beat 'em up Yakuza 3 featuring ex-yakuza Kazuma Kiryu's fight to protect those he loves. DARK TIES is a brand-new game featuring Yoshitaka Mine from Yakuza 3 included as a separate action-packed experience.

Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.57/day in the week to Aug 14 → 4.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

As a die hard fan of the yakuza series, this game really is unplayable garbage
Yakuza Kiwami 3 is mid. It does not live up to the legacy of Yakuza 3 nor does it share the same quality as its previous remakes. While I understood why many Yakuza fans would boycott/refuse to play the game, I wanted to play the game for myself to create my own opinion. Setting aside the elephant in the room (cough cough Hamazaki), I had thought that maybe the gameplay would be just as good or perhaps they'll make meaningful story additions like the previous remakes. Oh how wrong I was. The new Ryukyu style, while an interesting concept and a means to honor Okinawan martial arts, makes the game A LOT less challenging. And having the ability to punt and use a heavy attack after a grab as unlockable abilities rather than having them from the start is quite the odd choice. It was also quite a shame to see that Revelations didn't make a return nor Mack. And on the subject, some characters and substories from Yakuza 3 didn't return. So odd! And of course, I can't forget the grand story changes/additions like: seeing Hamazaki's "death" and then seeing him later in the final cutscene (How did he survive? idk), and Mine surviving his fall and becoming a Daidoji agent. Well I've complained too much, all in all 3/10 Oh and Dark Ties was ok, a bit shorter than the other Gaiden games and the bad part about it is.... y'know.... the whole Mine Daidoji thing. Uh 4/10

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 6: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Idk man, I didnt really feel like the game wasnt all that bad, but I did noticed parts on the story that seemed... that came out of nowhere, or were put in there just for the sake of it, not sure if its because of the whole crunching the game compare to the original/remake. I will say tho, ive been seeing reviews and comparisons from this to the remake that is now delisted and I gotta say, its a shame, they seem to have cut so much content out of it on this release I regret not giving the remake of 3 a second chance after I drop it a first time for being so slow in combat. Ill probably just give another try to the remake, because after seeing how they handle the story and the ending in here and the remake on youtube, remake definitely is better. Probably will stop preordering RGG kiwami's from now on, at least until I see reviews and comparisons, I hate to play an inferior version of this yakuza idealism story I like so much.
The game itself is good, but in terms of being an actual good remake 3R outmatches it by a lot. And the controversy. So much controversy. Especially the Hamazaki recast (Teruyuki Kagawa is convicted of SA, which confuses me since RGG has fired people for much less) If you can move past that its a pretty fun game.
Was having a lot of fun until I got to chapter 4, which seems to be the case for most people who play Yakuza 3. Now, I don't know if this was in the original because I never played it, however being forced into doing side content just to progress the main story is terrible game design. And since this is a remake, it's even more unforgivable that they kept it in, as this was Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's & Saga’s chance to fix it, if this awful game design was in the original. I actually, most likely, would have liked the Baddies missions had they not been forced down my throat as a mandatory objective that you have to do just to keep playing the game. And I won’t lie, there is a small part of me that thinks being forced to do this awful content may just be the thing to stop me from coming back to this game, and not just moving on to Yakuza 4. Overall, I picked Yakuza Kiwami 3 up for $50 something dollars CAD. And I still overpayed. It's simply not worth anything more than $30 bucks max, and even then, I wouldn't be happy about it. Update - Post beating the game: I still stand by everything stated above. In fact, I'd like to thank Scorpivan for posting their save on Nexus that skips the forced Gal Gang crap. I'm sure there is some rule about posting links, so I won’t be posting a direct link, but you should easily be able to find the save file by googling Yakuza Kiwami 3 Gal Gang Skip. Having beat the game now I can comfortably say that I enjoyed the story up until the end. I won't spoil anything, other than the fact that the ending is absolutely dog ♥♥♥♥♥ and makes very little sense due to terrible character writing. Now then, I've heard that there were “unnecessary changes” made to the story that aren’t in the original. I obviously still haven’t played the original because Saga has made that unjustifiably difficult, however I cannot stress enough how much I genuinely did love the story, again up until the end. Mostly the story around Morning Glory and Kiryu being a surrogate father. All this said, under zero circumstances is Yakuza Kiwami 3 worth it’s price tag. The greed that has been displayed by either RGG Studios, and or Saga is so f u c king distasteful that it will cause them more problems in the future should they pull this kind of stunt again. I personally made an exception this time around because I’ve wanted to play Yakuza 3 for a while, but I will not be making that exception again. Should RGGS or Sage continue to allow their greed to steer the ship, I, for one, will not buy another product from them. And I would be hard pressed not to believe that others wouldn’t do the same. However, for the time being, the coast seems clear. I’ll most likely buy the remaining games in the series before they have a chance to ruin those as well.
I don't pay attention to celebs, or politics really. I'm very disconnected from any kind of gaming news or community. I see Yakuza, I buy. As usual, having the time of my life. No idea why reviews are mixed (I gathered a few clues and I'm just not interested in exploring that) but I'm loving every second. 10/10 favorite series ever
