To be honest this game took me by surprise, I just could not stop playing it. The graphic style I must admit I love and the attention to detail is just amazing, one of the things I like the most apart from the game itself is building your own spacecraft it's really, really fun. This game is a must have.
Cool xevious or radius game in 3d and VR. Shows lots of promise but still in early development. Bought my copy for half price.
The building phase is very buggy but otherwise this is probably the coolest shoot em up i've played in a long time.
Enjoyable 3rd person? shooter. your controller becomes the ship, your other hand has the ability to pickup powerups and add them to your ship. You earn points that can be spent in making your ship better with almost any configuration you want to build, that adds a bit to the tactician in you, but id appreciate having prebuild ships or being able to save some basic configurations. Its a "bullethell" kinda game where you will be shot from everywhere, there are quite a few different enemies, and some of their attacks are different. Overall the performance was good, as expected with the voxel kinda graphics. Easy to recommend if you get it in a bundle or during a sale.
I'll be using this game as an intro into VR as its concepts are easy to grasp. My ship blew up from full health to 0. Not really sure why that is happening. It may be that my tracking was lost and the ship shifted, or maybe the ship blows up if a component is broken. I would like a reason given for the loss of the round. I ran into issues with ship building, however the 'undo last' and 'reset ship' allowed me to get past issues where you can place a part in the same spot and it charges you again. The game allows you to continue in a casual mode after death and that is why I'm keeping this game as recommended.
So i've just started playing this but i have to say this is a thoroughly fun experience. I feel like a kid playing with legos in the best sort of way. And it's difficult in all the right ways, and really rewards you for taking your time and being careful and precise. i totally would recommend anyone try this game.
For now i can not recommend this game. Sure it has a lot potential sure. Things that bug me the most: -The levels are not destructable. Just some small parts and only sometimes. -The ship has indirect controlls. Means you have a delay when you move it. -The wall at the end that "spawns" the level is to close in my opinion. -Only a view enemy types with no soul. -lots of missing sounds I don´t know. The game can become good and i will change my review if it does in the future. What i like to see: -Take the pressure out and make the level move slower if enemys are there. Or make it stop until the enemys are cleared. -Make the levels destructable -Give me free movement without delay. I know some cores are build around it but give me a shild or something instead. -The level barrier is to close. I am open to talk about it so hit me for questions. -review will get updated -
One of the best and most innovative VR games, has one of the best depth sense too and feel of flying the ship in 3rd person. It also has very good sized levels, I only wish it would have more levels otherwise it's near perfect. It has few bugs and looks kinda ugly in screenshots, this is the game where gameplay and the feeling of action vastly ecxeeds the screenshots. Definately recommended.
Very cool arcade style game. Unique VR experience compared to most others. I've had this game for quite a while, and was disappointed with the EA game... I wasn't sure if it was going to turn out well... but it did. Valve Labs gave us a basic VR Asteroids arcade game with Xortex, and Zenz has given us a fully realized Zaxxon like VR game with Xion. Nice. Fun unique VR arcade game. Thumbs up.
Good concept. Could have been a good little game. But the interface is ridiculously annoying. At the end of one stage with some water I couldn't see the bottom of the interface and had to leave the application to be able to start another game. And more than once, while trying to build my ship I either cancelled my ship or started the game by accident because the button is right behind. Also the way you control the speed of the ship by it's location toward your body could have been intuitive. But if you hold it naturally in front of you it is at full speed. To reduce speed you have to stick it to your face which is bad for the detection of your controllers and I end up bumping to the head set way too often. They should offer to control the speed with the thumb stick. There are also a few very annoying bugs. Weapons stop automatically firing which make the stage more difficult and more than once I lost all my money after an "undo last move" during ship building. And for the love of God, if you display words sequentially in a text box and you display them more slowly than I could read, you should be thrown in a lava pit. Why do you still do that? It's a shame. This could have been a fun game,
