got it on sale on a whim, had the most fun I've had with a video game in a while, it was absolutely exhilarating getting my first billion point game on this board. I have no prior experience with pinball games other than Windows XP Space Cadet, so the fact that I found it so engaging is a great endorsement of the quality of this game and this team. Get it on sale and have a ball, mate.
Lightning Strikes Again! Xenotilt arrives and serves as a much more polished digital pinball experience than its already stellar predecessor Demons Tilt. I originally thought it was going to inspired by the excellent Alien Crush originally released by Naxat on the Turbo Grafx 16/PC Engine, but it has a much more unique Mechanical Alien Ship look then the Biological one I expected. This modernized homage is developed by WIZNWARD and offers a stunning atmosphere defined by its dark yet neon drenched pixel art, extraterrestrial visuals, massive bosses and a pulsating synth midi soundtrack. The gameplay mechanics are very responsive, challenging players to master intricate board layouts that demand both quick tactical planning and lightning-fast bullet hell reflexes, the screen can still get a little bit busy at times but it feels more manageable this time around, though if you are not careful it can become very easy for a untrained eye to lose the ball real quick. While the learning curve may prove steep for casual enthusiasts, the rewarding sense of progression, perk system and the high-fidelity presentation make it a standout title within the digital pinball genre. Overall, XenoTilt much like Demons Tilt before it succeeds as both a nostalgic homage and a modern evolution. Whether you are a pinball purist or classic arcade fan, XenoTilt is an excellent title for enthusiasts of this genre, offering a challenging and visually interesting tribute to the pinball cabinets of yesteryear.
After playing enough to get into the top 20 (in EX mode and Hardcore mode), I absolutely recommend XENOTILT. This game makes every other pinball game look tame in comparison. It's the big brother of DEMON'S TILT, an earlier and also excellent pinball game by the same developer. XENOTILT is fun, addicting and a hell of a rush when you're in multiball and getting tons of bonuses at the same time with all sorts of lights and sounds (my favorite is when you're getting a bunch of multiplier bonuses and the lady's voice goes "multi-multi-multi-multi-multi-multi-multi-multi (20x more times then...) multiplier up." There's also a "billionaires" leaderboard which is fantastic so you can actually compete with other players to get high scores. There is one part of this game that is very frustrating though: ball lock. There's a ball lock mechanism in this game that often times blocks pathways or bonuses (including an Ultra Jackpot). When your ball goes into this ball lock mechanism, you have to choose a slot where to drop your ball to get "perks." The problem is: this usually means that you have to start at the bottom area again. This ball lock mechanism is a destroyer of momentum and now that I'm an advanced player, it kills my runs more than anything else. In XENOTILT, much like its predecessor, the table consists of 3 areas: bottom, middle and top. You basically want to avoid the bottom area like the plague because that's where the drain is. The incredibly frustrating ball lock mechanism spits you back into the bottom area almost every time. Maybe the developer did this because once you're advanced enough, it's usually fairly easy to get back to the middle and top areas, so the ball lock forces you to go back to the bottom to prevent an endless run? I don't know, but it pisses me off - just had a 53 billion point run ruined because of the ball lock. Beyond this frustrating mechanic, XENOTILT is by far my favorite pinball game ever, exceeding DEMON'S TILT in every measure. If you're trying to decide between XENOTILT or DEMON'S TILT - buy the bundle including both. If you have to choose one, get XENOTILT. This is a must buy for pinball fans. Rating: 9.5 out of 10.
Oh HELL yeah. It's one tough, very fast table, but it's colossal.
100% hands down one of the best pinball games available! It's single player and a mash up between a shoot em up and pinball with Zerg/Scifi vibes. Great sound effects and the ball physics is *chef's kiss*. Originally played DemonsTilt (also by WinrarZ) and was excited when XenoTilt popped up. Zeno is faster paced with tons of things to discover with hidden tables and different modes - so you can play for hell, years! Works well with older controllers and seems optimized for controller vs keyboard and mouse (though you absolutely can do keyboard and mouse). Tons of replayability and if you have limited time (or prefer short quick games) you can do that too though if you want to beat every table/see everything you'll be doing longer rounds (you can pause)! Hands down one of my favorite games and super excited to see if WinRarZ does a 3rd pinball game!
It's a well designed game lot of stuff to be done on the table and the tilting mechanic works really well. I strongly suggest turning off a bunch of the effects and turning off the score pips: it makes it drastically easier to see where the ball is. Once you can actually see the ball and you master the tilt mechanic, the only thing that will kill you is bad luck and you can start racking up a score and focusing on actually placing the ball where you want instead of desperately trying to survive. On my best run so far I was once objectve away from completing the table and having all 9 balls locked with 1 row having overcharge, got like 10 billion points. This is much better than demons tilt, Demons tilt has a lot of issues, this is way better.
feed your pinball addiction, this is one of the best tables ever. It can turn you into a mad man
Now that I've broken onto the billionaire's club, I'm ready to say that this may well be the best digital pinball table on Steam. The controls are responsive, the effects are exciting, it's got secrets that go all the way down, and the music deserves special recognition. It's leaps ahead of Demon's Tilt, which makes me very excited for another entry to make this a trilogy to compare with the legendary TG-16 Pinball games it has every right to call its grandparents. If you like pinball even a little bit, you owe it to yourself to give Xenotilt a try.
XenoTilt is pretty freaking awesome! Do you like pinball? Get this game. I generally haven't gotten too much into video pinball, because I'd rather play the real thing. If there is a video version of a real machine, I definitely will not play the video version. I've played some tables that are video only in pinball fx, and they are fun, but i never got addicted. XenoTilt is awesome. The gameplay is fast. The gameplay is similar to playing a real machine, but adds machine guns, lasers, and bosses to the mix. This is some Hostile Pinball Action. You feel like you are fighting the table. Total recommend from me!
I forgot how fun digital pinball is, and this seems to be that and plus. Xenotilt feels like a pinball alien fever dream, the music is awesome and once you get how it works it becomes very satisfying. Also i really enjoy it on the steam deck, this is an easy pickup on the go.
