Hum... Not a good one. This is a vertical shooter. The graphics are OK. The music is OK too. The Story is nothing to write to home about. No bugs or crashes. Overall, it is barely entertaining. The game is unbalanced and the design is very poor. There's only one thing that the game wants you to do: evade things. The levels are too long and there's no way to fix or power up your ships. There are no advantages, but lots of disadvantages: guns overheat, you run out of ammo, lack of maneuvering space, and limited resources. You earn very few credits in any run (and you can't replay single missions to stock more), and everything is expensive. If you lose a ship, for instance, you'll need to buy another for about the same credits you got in the mission, so you won't gonna be able to upgrade your ships. Once you are behind there's no way to come back. So restart, and restart, and restart... It's not really fun to play. It's the classic reflexes-only niche that appeals to the arcade-oriented players only. If you're not one of them, you just gonna experience a miserable time here. Unto something else.
Random, tedious, and difficult in frustrating ways. The devs speak in the forums of their crafted design where they spent time weighing options and creating the best game they could. Too bad they couldn't be arsed to spend that time creating actual levels. Instead you get a total enemy count to deplete and some sort of enemy "heat meter" that spawns enemies from the remaining pool that match the desired threat level based on what is already on screen. Enemies are varied in design but bland in execution. The game would be trivialized if it had normal shmup mechanics, so now your main gun overheats if you fire continuously and then must cool off. That doesn't sound carefully-crafted to me. It sounds like your game design is weak and you have set up artificial difficulty to disguise that. This isn't even going into the pseudo-meta-progression which is necessary to advance further, but also resets between chapters. Yes, when I purchased a shmup, what I was really looking for was a resource management sim. Good thing I got this in some sort of bundle, b/c I'm pretty sure if I realized I had payed $10 for this I'd shoot myself. What a joke. Bullet Heaven 2 is $12, Jamestown is $5. Both of those games have great style and gameplay. This game is, to put it plainly, fugly. The character art is awful and as I said before, the enemy design is samey and bland. There is zero justification for the price, but that's fine, because there's zero reason to play this game in the first place. There's no shortage of quality shmups in the $10-15 range. Pick any one of them over this trash.
Third re-install, and this game is GREAT! You control one ship of a squadron of four ships selectable between 7, changeable anytime in-game, with invulnerability when changing, but with cooldown. The mechanics of changing and weapon heating are awesome, works like a "dark souls roll" or dodge, and even comboes with two of the ships! The game is nicely balanced with this, with its inertial movement and slightly diagonal shooting (with was a turn off 4 me at the start) Must play!
the controls absolutely kill this one for me. either you rubber band back and forth around where you've moved the mouse or you completely overshoot where you intended to go with key strokes. I like 10tons' titles normally, but this one is just aggravating.
I played this years ago and thought it was a lot of fun. Since then I've gotten heavily into danmaku style shmups and this game is what people in that scene would call a "euroshmup" (this is not generally a positive term). I decided to take a second gander at it recently to see if my opinion of this has changed it all.... It hasn't. This game is still a load of fun and I think this game is criminally underrated. Most shmup players might be turned off by the inertia based movement but I say it ties in really well. It's an intentional design decision vs something thrown in there without thought to the overall experience. A "retro" or "classic" or "arcade" shmup this game is not - and I don't think it's trying to be that. The movement of the shmup tilts the vessel which controls the direction of the fire and so the inertia movement ties into this and overall makes the weapons satisfying to control and fire. The upgrade mechanics are not overly "gamified" - they are within a context of a run and reward mastery, not grinding/play time. It has flaws like any game - but I think overall it's a fun and satisfying experience to play.
Good small game, the gameplay is solid, the usual from the developer.
The game is pretty solid and I liked it a lot. This is my opinion after beating the campaign on normal. Pros:

The combat feels pretty solid.
You can change the pilots (with their accompanying ships) mid game, also allowing you to evade some projectiles.
There is different kind of ships with different movement, main and secondary weapons, and upgrades.
There is upgrades that affect a single ship.
There is upgrades that affect every ship, or the game (like the one that makes the game a little bit easier).
There is a decent story to keep the progress from mission to mission going.
Cons:

The game can be a bit difficult sometimes.
Conclusion: I give it a 4.5 of 5 stars. If it were a roguelike it would be a 5 of 5 stars for me. 10tons is a good developer.
4/10
It is the most addicting shoot em up I played. The idea of 4 spaceships you can choose any time and the firing mechanisms make the game a solid one. I highly recommend
