Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 7.43/day in the week to Sep 11 → 10.14/day in the week after.

Bestes Weltraumsim ever. Der Soundtrack ist Top. und bei jedem Durchlauf ist alles anders. Top!!!

Is the game good? Yeah. That being said, after playing the Timelines "DLC", I won't be buying anything else from this developer.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

not sure if even the developers know how to interact with this thing. its definitely not a playable game.
X4 has had its ups and downs. The current 9.0 update that is out at the time of my writing this review is simply perfection. I fell in love with X4 the first time I ever played it and it will go down as one of my favorite games of all time. Stunning, beautiful ships and visuals, seemingly endless unique space to cruise around in all while a beautiful and varied soundtrack plays. Pew pewing in epic space battles is ENDLESSLY fun and visually stunning! I could (and have) spend hours manipulating the economics of the galaxy, starting conflicts and subtly altering the course of war. The game does have a decent learning curve and can suffer from a little bit of slowdown late game. At any rate, I have sunk hundreds of hours into X4. Egosoft is a solid publisher and this game is obviously a labor of love that I imagine I'll sink hundreds of hours more into.
I refunded. The game wants you to STEAL! Bad influence here. Ships are strange to fly and land, too. Weird game.
Been playing this game for awhile now and with the 9.0 patch, I gotta say this is definitely one of the best space games out there currently. The new flight model update makes just being a pilot and flying around the universe achieve objects way more fun, I can just do a whole playthrough as a pilot instead of a manager of sorts... BUT stay away from this game if you cannot stand clunky UI... it is a bit of a headache to get around at first, but if you can stomach it and get used to it, the game is just the best space war sim you can find on the market right now. I am an avid Star Citizen player, but this is where I go when I get tired of the bugs in SC and want to have a bug free experience and play a game that is kinda like what SC aims to become. I don't recommend playing with heavy game changing modlist atm as the current updates make the game way better and is better balanced than what is out there right now... but light QoL mods are nice to have.
Its really hard and frustrating to get anything done in this game. Really hard to get into. Everything is slow, confusing, and grindy. The story is not engaging. Nothing in the game is clear, you have to look videos up how to complete the missions and everything else just to function in the world. I don't feel like a I have a good reason to do anything in this game. Don't care about any of the characters or factions. This game feels like a confusing chore with not interesting pay offs.
factorio in space but you actually get to play a game instead of sitting afk watching a factory for 9 years
Maybe i should just give up on x4 ever being a game for me. i have over 1000 hours in elite, and on paper x4 should be the game right up my alley, but the amount of information dumped on you with no handholding is quite frankly overwhelming, maybe i should put more time into it, but every time i see a you tube video saying that the latest 9.0 update is the best there is, i reinstall and give it a chance, i start a new game, and nothing the same barrier to entry is there. i should probably just give up. im sure there is an amazing game here, im just disappointed i cant enjoy it
