Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 7.43/day in the week to Sep 11 → 10.14/day in the week after.

the interface is very un-intuitive. you want to look at your ships - that is under 'maps', you want to look at who is flying those ships, shift+i for inventory, and you have a whole list of different buttons. why not just have all the buttons on the one screen, and a big button to display/hide the map behind them? the tutorials teach nothing, i can do the absolute basics, but it doesnt teach to use the complex interface. you basically have to alt-tab every 2 mins to ask how to do things. humans. are. ugly. for some reason they made the worst looking humans, and there seems to be no way to change it. no customisation. no mods (except for player characters, and they are not the ones i have to look at all the time!) ai cannot pilot asteroid debris fields. i can fly through at top speed, by ai drops to slow speed continuously, it takes an ai pilot 10 times longer (or more) to fly through a debris field. this is an older game, but still feels half-baked. maybe some modders can do an overhaul using this game as its bones, and make something good of it in future...

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

love space management economic system? so this is the game
I expected an exploration and trading space game, but what I got was an empire management game. I love it!! 9.4/10, Better than most space sim games!
They have some bugs but the X series is really in a class of its own. X4 takes the concepts of the previous games and expands on them in a very satisfying way. Absolutely stellar comeback after the disappointing X: Rebirth title. I consider this to be the most accomplished game in the series, and the active modding communities are smoothing out the rough edges fairly well. recommended if your PC can handle it. (if not you can always run in potato mode and enjoy the "retro" vibes.)
Seems like an awesome game if i invested more time.
Still a buggy, janky mess.
The biggest issue this game has is that the quit function seems to have a built-in 4 hour delay... iykyk I might write more when I've gotten a few hours under my belt.
X4: Foundations is a very complex space simulator and I like the feel of the game and the general idea. With that said, I really can believe that a game of this size and with all the DLC available, they couldn't hire a descent UX designer to sort the game controls. The controls makes no sense, it's like they just ignored if you played any first person or flying game in the past 25 years and decided to reinvent the controls and made it overcomplex with no real benefit. I will still leave thumbs up because I can see it's a passion work from Egosoft and I know that the game a has a big fanbase. I just wish that for their next game, they pay more attention in the UX and onboarding for the game :)
