Wraith: The Oblivion - Afterlife

Started off with a good first impression, pretty damn good looking setting and a decent atmosphere but man was my experience so up and down. It's honestly got a few solid spooky sections and the sound design was bloody good but on the other hand it can get really annoying at times with how the AI can act up. Turning around quickly, seemingly at random. Heading straight to where you are and hanging around there so you can't do much of anything for a while. Sometimes not getting distracted by the things you throw. The general gameplay loop of running around and fetching items was fine for a while but when I hit the point where I got to a door and it was somehow magically sealed by 3 items, leaving me to immediately turn back to go on another item hunt, I was quite frustrated. I have very mixed feelings about this game. It does some things well but it gets quite tedious and annoyed me to the point I nearly quit it a few times. That being said, while I feel like the game could have been executed much better, I'm still going to leaving a positive review as I feel like it's still worth playing and it pulled off some good scares, which is what I've been seeking lately. So props to it for that.

Un juego entretenido con una trama que mantiene el suspense hasta el final, aparte de los típicos "jumpscares" sabe crear una atmósfera inquietante. Lo mejor es que permite explorar a fondo la casa y sus secretos, lo cual recomiendo ya que permite conocer mejor la historia. Los espectros que acechan por la mansión solo aparecen en zonas y momentos determinados, por lo que tampoco se hace agobiante. No es muy largo y tampoco tiene una maravilla de gráficos, pero está genial para su precio.

Я хз почему это "хоррор, стелс и приключение", по факту скукота смертная в которой нечего делать. Только 30% дошло до получения камеры, которую тебе выдают по сюжету в самом начале, наводит на мысли что большинство просто либо бросили эту игру, либо никогда не запускали. Хотите хоррор есть прикольная Cosmodread которая вышла в том же 2021, или Phasmophobia.

Supposedly I played this for 13 mins, considering I have to put effort into booting up and putting on my headset, I doubt this time was spent AFK at the title screen. The fact that I remember NOTHING about this game tells you everything you need to know.

Tutto sommato è un bel giochino, penso abbiano migliorato la presa degli oggetti e le performace. Consigliato se ci si vuole divertire con qualche spavento ed una storia ben costruita.

I only played this game 90 min. But want to share my impression. "Wraith: The Oblivion - Afterlife" is an unusual and amazing game. Pros: Graphics - very good Controls - very good Map - very good Story - very good Immersion - very good Settings - Excellent. You can customize everything to how you like it. 10/10 - for sure. Highly recommend. The game has an issue though: SOUND - I have to quit and restart the game once, sometimes twice to get sound. There is NO SOUND - when I start the game the first time. This review was made on April 6, 2024. ------------------------------------------ I am updating it now on April 8, 2026. 2 years after. But the NO sound problem still persists. Seriously?! This is the only game that has this issue that I am aware of.

Not bad, not great, but if you're looking for a solid VR horror evasion game this fits the bill, featuring some varied, interesting, and tense monsters that don't overstay their welcome and only occasionally gets too annoying.
