I've never been particularly interested in jigsaws, but I do have a strong interest in visual art. I am the kind of person who stands in front of each painting at a museum for 5-10 minutes, bringing my nose precariously close to inspect all the details. Unfortunately, I've only been sporadically to perhaps a dozen fine art museums in my life. As such, I can't say I'm familiar with the visual arts in quite the same way I am with cinema, music, or literature. The fact is that while the vast majority of people can and do experience cinema, music, and (if they choose) literature in their daily lives, it is much less common to "consume" visual art like painting and sculpture. While it's perfectly normal for a family to sit down for two hours and watch a film, it's unheard of for an ordinary family to sit down and watch a slide show of great paintings. It just isn't done. Even if you are interested in such things, just scrolling through high quality reproductions online is somehow too unstructured and obscure to become a leisure habit for non-specialists. So, this game is wonderful for giving you an entertaining excuse to spend a little time every day engaging closely with historic masterpieces. By the time you work your way through each of the four puzzle sizes for a particular work, and encounter its trivia details in the quiz, you will have become familiar enough to recognize and conjure it in imagination when it is discussed in a book or lecture. And you will slowly develop a feel for the style of a much larger spectrum of artists and movements. Almost anyone can recognize a Van Gogh or a Picasso simply due to repeated cultural exposure, but you can extend this recognition to dozens or hundreds of artists and enlarge your comparative understanding of art just by playing a game such as this with reflective critical attention to the subject pieces. Of course, jigsaws are nothing new, and neither are digital reproductions. However, this application stands out for taking great care to present the images in the best possible way. Even expensive printed jigsaws don't look this good. Curation and digital treatment is thankless and time consuming, but an essential aspect to presenting art in this format, and it has been very well executed here. One point of exception is the way dating and some other metadata has been somewhat sloppily handled, with huge numbers of works being marked with "unknown" dates and apparently some even sorted as if they were AD rather than BC. Surely we can at least say what century or millennium a painting is from...? There are some quibbles to be made with how nationality is handled in a few cases as well. It definitely needs some cleanup and normalization. Perhaps this is the reason dates seem to be the only metadata not used in the trivia quizzes. Hopefully the author is aware and seeking to improve on this admittedly minor point. Even if you don't care about art, and only want to do jigsaws, I would argue this game does it much better than most I've seen on Steam or the web, for a few reasons: First and foremost, you won't find any AI slop or generic stock images here, which dominate most other jigsaw games and websites. This game also doesn't use strange ugly algorithmic cuts. All the cuts here look traditional, and if you think about it, the cuts on a digital jigsaw are actually pretty irrelevant; in a large physical puzzle most of the cuts are visually indistinguishable and only differ imperceptibly to serve as a physical "check" for correctness. The bigger the puzzle the more likely you can accidentally jam the wrong pieces together. This doesn't need to happen in a computer program, which is checking each piece for correctness, so when I see so many puzzle programs spend time bragging about their ugly algorithms to cut up stock images and AI slop it makes me wonder how their brains work. If the cuts were the primary thing, a lot more hobbyists would seek blank puzzles. Mechanically things work well, and I've already seen some of my own suggestions quickly implemented and patched, improving the way the game controls and looks for me; so it is clear the developers are highly responsive and hold themselves to a high standard. In short: On sale for $3, this is a steal, and at full price it is still cheaper than a single high quality physical puzzle. The 3D DLC offers some significant improvements in certain controls and presentation, and you may prefer its immersive quality. It is worth picking up along with any of the content packs that interest you when they go on sale. However, as a lifelong Tetris player, I can say "Jigstris" is not nearly as much fun as it sounds (or could be?) and I would presently skip it except as a mere curiosity to support the project.

很不错的拼图游戏 但是不知道为什么每次进入主菜单和拼完就会卡住 有时候还会闪退
