Если хотите обзавестись недорогой программой для ландшафтного дизайна,то милости просим,однако советую купить 2-ую ее версию,т.к эта уже просто напросто устарела,да и сильно режет глаз старое меню(как в программах 90-00 годов.
Just about worthless. Find something else. Anything else.
The quality of the height maps that one can produce with this software is the best I have seen so far. It hase a bunch of templates included to get started quickly but you can adjust the terrain however you want with all the different editing tools build into this program. With the flexibility of this tool you can get very diverse Terrains but at a throughout high realism level. I really like that you don't only get high quality results with some well balanced settings. It works in all its flexibility. As far as the usage with Game Engines goes: I've only tried this tool with Unity and the Cryengine which works great and can be learned quickly. I have yet to try it with Unreal Engine but I can't see why that shouldn't work and if you get stuck just make use of the developer support which is great as well. The only downside is that the UI could need an update but I guess that wont be a downside anymore when World Creator 2 comes out (which you can get as a Unity Plugin, I think). What I can also recommend is getting the indie version if you use this tool often or just need the even higher resolution output.
World Creator 1 is a specialized terrain and landscape creation tool developed by Stefan Kraus and Timo Armbruster and published by BiteTheBytes GmbH, aimed primarily at artists, developers, and technical creators rather than traditional gamers. Released as the first iteration in what would become a long-running suite of world-building software, World Creator 1 establishes its identity as a procedural terrain generator that prioritizes speed, control, and flexibility within professional and hobbyist content pipelines. Rather than presenting a game-like experience, it functions as a creative sandbox designed to transform abstract ideas into usable digital landscapes for games, simulations, and visual media. At the heart of World Creator 1 is its procedural approach to terrain generation, which allows users to quickly produce expansive landscapes while still retaining a strong degree of artistic control. The software uses isolines and layered terrain structures to define elevation and shape, enabling creators to sculpt mountains, valleys, plains, and coastlines with precision. These systems are non-destructive, meaning changes can be adjusted or reworked at any stage without permanently damaging earlier design decisions. This makes experimentation a core strength of the tool, encouraging users to iterate freely and explore different geological configurations without fear of losing progress. One of the defining aspects of World Creator 1 is how it bridges automation and manual editing. While procedural filters can rapidly generate natural-looking terrain through erosion, sediment simulation, and water flow algorithms, users are not locked into those results. Tools such as vector-based editing allow for intentional shaping, including the creation of roads, river paths, or structured regions that suggest human influence. This combination makes the software suitable both for organic, untouched landscapes and more controlled environments designed for gameplay or architectural visualization. From a technical standpoint, World Creator 1 supports relatively high terrain resolutions for its time, allowing for detailed heightmaps that can be exported into a wide variety of formats. These exports integrate smoothly with popular game engines and 3D applications, making the software a practical component of a larger production workflow rather than a closed ecosystem. Whether importing real-world elevation data or crafting entirely fictional terrain, the tool provides creators with assets that can be readily used in engines such as Unity or Unreal, as well as in offline rendering tools for film and visualization. The interface and workflow reflect the era in which World Creator 1 was developed. While functional and logically structured, it lacks some of the polish, immediacy, and visual feedback found in more modern terrain editors. New users may find the learning curve manageable but not effortless, as understanding how different layers and filters interact takes time. For experienced users, however, this system offers predictability and control, allowing for precise adjustments rather than opaque, automated outcomes. The software’s design emphasizes results over presentation, which aligns with its role as a production utility rather than a creative toy. Reception among users has historically been mixed, largely due to expectations shaped by later versions of the software and competing tools. Some appreciate World Creator 1 for its procedural depth, export versatility, and relatively lightweight performance, particularly for hobbyists or indie developers working with limited resources. Others note that its feature set and interface feel dated when compared to newer terrain-generation solutions that offer real-time previews, advanced material systems, and object scattering. These criticisms are valid, but they also reflect how much the landscape creation space has evolved since World Creator 1’s release. In practice, World Creator 1 often serves as an entry point into procedural terrain design rather than a final destination. Many users who start with this version eventually move on to later iterations that expand upon the original concepts with more modern workflows and visual tools. Even so, the foundational ideas introduced here—layered terrain editing, non-destructive workflows, and fast procedural generation—remain relevant and influential. For those interested in understanding the roots of modern terrain software or seeking a straightforward, export-focused solution, World Creator 1 still holds practical value. Overall, World Creator 1 stands as a significant early step in the evolution of real-time terrain generation tools. It may no longer represent the cutting edge of landscape creation, but its emphasis on procedural control, flexibility, and pipeline integration helped define what creators came to expect from world-building software. As both a historical foundation and a functional utility, it remains a noteworthy piece of software for developers and artists exploring the technical and creative possibilities of digital landscapes. After looking at some screenshots and watching a tutorial I was excited at first but after bying it and trying it out - as a noob - I got disappointed really fast. My biggest issue was I didn't seem to be able to get rid of a seed. Guidelines and tutorials of this version seemed hard to find too. I cannot get a refund because I tried too long finding out how things were (not) working. I bought the pro version now and I must say, it's heaven on earth! Everything is very intuitive and there are plenty of tutorials.
I absolutely love love this software. It is a bit tricky to use at first, however, it produces very detailed terrains that you can export to other programs. I use my terrains in Bryce and also create height maps for my Sims 3 Create a World (CAW). Recently I purchased the upgrade at their website for the WorldCreator 2--its a little pricey and had to save for it, however, it is absolutely Unbelievable!! It is like having a pro CAW tool with water simulations and Speedtree (same thing CAW uses). Apparently they have plans for you to import your own objects soon (much like Bryce) and it comes with World Creator Sync Tool to quickly transfer the terrain over to Unity and Unreal. You can make some changes to the sky, lighting and water. The company honors steam buyers with a 30% off discount for the upgrade. All in all the Steam version is still VERY useful in producing incredible terrains.
Last update: 12 May 2015 (almost 4000 days ago now) This software was obsoleted when World Creator 2 released and they never put that on Steam, they want you off-platform to buy their new product which costs $450-5000 USD for a copy that will receive updates. This ancient Steam store page doesn't serve any purpose other than to get you over to their website to buy into their newer product. https://steamcommunity.com/app/314730/discussions/0/1318836262665640866/#c2183537632749363069 Steam release for the new version is not intended and won't happen. App description "It empowers the user with the most advanced procedural techniques available nowadays" but "nowadays" is actually 2014 and it's not 2014 anymore.
I was introduced to World Creator by Bryce users such as myself. Though I've used Bryce for many years, it lacks the vast tools and versatility that World Creator has. I now use World Creator exclusively to create amazing terrains and I highly recommend it to anyone, novice and experts alike; you won't regret it. Also, the tutorials on Steam and YouTube are very helpful.
这个好像是老版本的,worldcreator2到网上搜搜视频到处都是但是creator—0不好找
