Woodcutter Deluxe Edition

It's real retro, made in an old school style! The game has a very interesting story, partly based on facts, and most importantly has the lifetime support of the authors! Treasure for point collectors.

This game is really good, the graphic is great. The gameplay is demanding but also satisfying. Great retro game

Wow, so much drama and attitude, will not support this developer again. Attacked and blamed after simply asking why my controller is not working in the game. My controller works on every other 200+ games I own across Steam, GOG, Epic... The devs suggestions included: 1. Just use the keyboard instead 2. Deleting the game. Quoted 'technical support' from Dev and troubled moderator 'Mr.Aimbot': "How can your gamepad not work if the game uses standard drivers and the latest update detects Windows drivers? Think for yourself." "The problem is on your side." "You are the only one with such a problem." "If you can't deal with such a simple "problem" then I suggest you buy a console."

Heya folks, Shaun here, and I'm back with a new review! In this one, I'm covering another solo developed game called Woodcutter Deluxe Edition by Husaria Games, and no, it has nothing to do with cutting wood. Woodcutter is a 2D Platformer that puts you in the role of a woodsman whose daughter has been kidnapped and it's up to you (him) to traverse the world in order to rescue her. Along the way you'll encounter many different enemies including slimes, goblins and birds to name only a couple. The game features 79 levels in total and each level is short but increasingly more challenging the further you progress. You're also given a limited amount of lives so getting through all 79 levels without dying is definitely a major challenge. If you happen to run out of lives, you'll need to start your game from the beginning again. One thing I really like about this game is its crisp pixel art graphics. The different environments look great and it definitely enhances the overall enjoyment of the game. I will admit that I wasn't a big fan of the control scheme for either the keyboard or controller. The keyboard layout is a little easier to use than the controller is but not by much. The controller layout for each of the buttons feels really wonky though, and could use some improvement to make actions feel more fluid. One cool feature that the game has is when you start a new game, you can see your previous run's ghost in the background so you can go up against yourself to beat your best time through the game. Originally, I thought it was another player but it's actually your own ghost. Not sure why I thought that, in truth. Overall, Woodcutter Deluxe Edition is a pretty fun, if really challenging platforming experience. It's got a great pixel art style, and the music isn't bad either. The controls definitely take some getting used to though. I've decided to give the game a 7 out of 10, it's honestly not bad and one of the better platformers I've played in recent memory. controls clumpsy, in ice world i can't make it further xause double jump is not far enough and wall jump only lets you jump backwards... most secrets you can't get when you died 1 time cause you don't hve expolsion jars anymore... wired world... some plattforms you can jump others not... it's a woodcutter game but you don't use your axe to kill enemies... only to cut a tree once in a while... esc closes the game.... so sadly negative review there are way better plattformers out there with much better controls and graphic and level design.
