Easier than the original. Still aged pretty good although you got to understand this game ruled for a game that came out in 1994 (by then it was already beautiful) I have my nostalgia googles on, but would definetly recommend it if you like Kirby games and other classic side scrollers with lots of platforms and collectibles.
Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World is a lovingly crafted remake that brings a classic action-adventure platformer into the modern era while remaining deeply respectful of its roots. Developed by G CHOICE and Monkey Craft and published by Bliss Brain, the game reimagines Monster World IV with updated visuals, sound, and quality-of-life refinements, yet preserves the structure and spirit that defined the original experience. From the opening moments, it establishes itself as a colorful, earnest adventure that values charm, accessibility, and steady progression over complexity or modern genre trends. The story follows Asha, a young warrior tasked with rescuing four elemental spirits to restore balance to the world. While the narrative is simple and straightforward, it fits the tone of the game perfectly, serving as a gentle framework for exploration rather than a dominant focal point. The world feels warm and inviting, filled with towns, temples, and varied environments that gradually open up as Asha grows stronger. Rather than relying on heavy exposition, the game communicates personality through character animations, environmental details, and small interactions that give Monster World a sense of life and cohesion. Gameplay blends classic side-scrolling combat with light puzzle and exploration elements. Asha’s sword and shield form the foundation of combat, which is intentionally easy to grasp and forgiving, making the game approachable for newcomers. Enemy encounters are frequent but rarely overwhelming, emphasizing rhythm and positioning rather than precision or difficulty spikes. What adds depth to traversal and puzzle-solving is Asha’s companion, Pepelogoo, whose abilities are woven into nearly every aspect of the adventure. Using Pepelogoo to glide across gaps, block hazards, or interact with the environment creates a sense of partnership that is both mechanically satisfying and thematically endearing. Exploration plays a central role in pacing and progression. Levels are designed to encourage curiosity, with hidden areas, optional treasures, and upgrades that reward players who take the time to look beyond the main path. Currency collected throughout the journey can be spent on new equipment, allowing Asha to gradually become stronger and more resilient. These RPG-lite systems are deliberately uncomplicated, offering a sense of growth without burdening the player with complex stat management. Boss encounters punctuate each major area, providing memorable challenges that test the skills learned along the way without straying into frustration. Visually, the remake stands out with its bright, cel-shaded art style that transforms the original pixel-based designs into expressive 2.5D environments. Characters are animated with personality, and the world bursts with color, giving each region its own identity. While some players may prefer the nostalgic look of the original, the updated presentation succeeds in making Monster World feel vibrant and approachable for a new audience. The soundtrack complements this transformation, featuring rearranged music from the original composer that preserves familiar melodies while enhancing them with modern instrumentation and clarity. At the same time, the game’s dedication to authenticity means it retains certain design choices that may feel dated to modern players. Level layouts, enemy patterns, and progression are rooted in older design philosophies, favoring steady pacing over constant novelty. For some, this will be a welcome return to classic game design; for others, it may feel simplistic compared to more demanding or mechanically dense platformers. Minor technical issues and slightly stiff controls can occasionally break immersion, though they rarely overshadow the overall experience. Ultimately, Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World succeeds as a faithful remake that prioritizes heart and nostalgia without alienating newcomers. It offers a focused, polished adventure that celebrates the legacy of the Wonder Boy and Monster World series while making thoughtful adjustments for modern audiences. While it may not push the genre forward or redefine action-platforming, it delivers a consistently enjoyable journey filled with charm, color, and a sense of classic adventure that lingers long after the final boss is defeated. Rating: 7/10
Cute, short little game. Combat can get too easy.... a couple of puzzles can get too hard...? Seems a bit "basic," but maybe that's what you want?
Its not he best remake I played but it's not bad either.Buy it on sale .

This game is broken! It glitched on me twice so I can't proceed in the game. And the second time was after the 2 hour-limit so i can't refund it either. I have to start all over again and I don't want that! Don't buy it! It's broken and i haven't played it for several years now! too bad!
o jogo pode ser meio curto mas é muito divertido e as musicas são a melhor parte
10/10 PLEASE MAKE A NEW WONDER BOY WITH ASHA AGAIN.
Initially I was a little put off by the graphical style compared to the original but honestly, I really enjoyed this. It's well put together and a lot of fun. Now that I've beaten it, I can say it was certainly worth my time and money.
very linear game reminds me of Kirby and Shantae the half genie hero very fun movement and powers!
