«Wizard King»
Wizard King is a strategy game that mixes trading card game elements with role playing game elements but sadly falls short on all fronts. There is no story whatsoever here, all you do is play at your leisure to collect new cards and progress in levels. While a game certainly does not need a story to be good, the absence of one took away any sense of urgency to complete the game. The title is single player so all you can do is fight against the AI. The lack of multiplayer compounded by lack of story left me with little incentive to improve my deck. It helps progress in the game but there is no reward for doing so; not even Steam achievements. Despite this, the game isn’t horrible to play. There is a tutorial that teaches you most of the basics. Then you can partake in battles to gain new cards to help your deck. There is also an expedition mode but the game warns players to first complete all of the battles before trying it. Gameplay is a bit slow and clunky. You have your main character who must be protected, if he dies then it’s game over, however, the opposition follows the same rules. Using your deck you summon warriors to do battle for you and also cast spells to support your team or attack the enemy. You start off with a very basic, but useful, deck that can probably get you far with very little tweaking. Despite this being a strategy game there isn’t much to be seen, as long as you have enough summon characters to attack you’ll be fine, boosts help as well. Certain enemies require a little bit of a different approach but for the most part it’s all the same. My biggest issue with the game, that I also feel relates to how slow gameplay can be, is that you can only have five characters on the field at a time. This isn’t a big issue but all the characters stand behind each other in a line. Melee fighters must be in front and ranged ones in the second or third spot and then healers or status boosting characters in the back. Much like in real life, what draws from the deck is random so there is strategy in how you place summons but they attack slowly and only being able to use one single melee characters drags things along since ranged ones aren’t as strong. You also can’t have a summon target anyone so you’re forced to beat down whatever character the enemy has in front until they run out and only their main character is left. You can reshuffle your deck if need be but that costs mana. Summoning costs mana, spells cost mana, changing the position of your characters costs mana… all of this makes mana the most important aspect of the game and it generates slowly. Wizard King isn’t a bad game, but it’s painfully mediocre. Graphics aren’t pretty, the gameplay could be better and the English translation at certain points is poor and can confuse players. It is fun to play but not for very long, the title shows promise but sadly doesn’t fully deliver and is easily forgettable in a sea of other collectable trading card games. Pros

Somewhat affordable.
Simple gameplay to learn, easy to pick up for short bursts of fun.
It is fun and some levels can be challenging.
Cons

Gets repetitive very easily.
Graphics aren’t very good looking at all and the user interface is boring.
The same music plays over and over again.
The English translation is barely passable.
No Steam achievements or trading cards. I am not into CCG's. I do enjoy a good quest. I have only played one other that combined both in a simple manner with complex variety. That one was a lot of fun. This is not much different in concept although graphically it is different. The tutorial allows you to get right into playing. There are no card animations or pieces to move on a board. Instead, this is animated fighting. Not enough animation to require lots of computing power but just enough to keep it interesting. So far I have not gotten a card that I feel is useless although I am just starting and using the common cards for now. So far there is progression every battle and those battles give cards as rewards. This may not be the eye candy that some CCG's have but this has the foundation to build something great upon in terms of gameplay. I recommend this to anyone who wants a CCG that is a little different than the rest. I also recommend this to anyone who likes questing for loot in games.
its good game for winning good time have much fun!
The main gripe I have with the game is the english, it could've used quite a bit more proof reading as the tutorial gets a bit confusing due to it... One other thing that got me a tad confused is that you can't fireball the other master, it can only be used on creatures, maybe some direct damage things will appear later... Once you get into the game things do get a bit clear, what the things I thought was the equivalent of hero power actually does and what it meant with it sticking around. (it's for instance +1 attack and it stays in the position you put it on the ground, most often on the first I'd say, especially extra armour) The game allows five beings, one is your master, they're pos. 1=melee, pos. 2-3=archers and such, pos. 4-5=non-fighting characters such as healers. Gameplay is more RPG than card game, you can think of the cards as spells/party members that you summon into the fight, all the fighting 8melee/arrows) happen automatically during a round so what you do is deal damage via spells, heal and place creatures on the playing field. It does have a little bit of a Ghostlords feel to it in that you don't really fight the fight but you decide what to do, this doesn't pause for you to do something though, the rounds are long enough to not make you stress out though. (this may very well change as you climb the difficulty) I enjoyed it and I will play more of it....I just hope there's not a whole lot of story to it as I'm not too sure I'd be able to grasp it if there is...
SOSO
