Honestly wasn’t very fun for me. I tried multiple times to get into it before just giving up. I’m a huge fan of witchcraft and the culture of it, so I was really hoping for a fun and exciting game. Unfortunately, this game just came with a bunch of bugs (expected), an empty world, and a strangely tedious catching mechanic. I do hope the devs turn this into something truly grand, but for now, it’s just not interesting enough. Good luck!

yep
This game has potential, but I found it underwhelming even in an EA state from a single player mode perspective. It's got some cutesy stuff, some creature collecting, and some awful base building. I am sure a bunch of the negative stuff I have listed below is on the development roadmap, but currently, this game is just not fun to play for any extended amount of time. There's a lot more bad than good to list here. The good: > Graphically and artistically pleasing with decent audio. > Movement feels responsive. > Exploration is decent. The Bad, from worst to tolerable: > Keybinds are really, really bad if you are an evolved WASD gamer. You have the option to rebind, but those keys you want on the right side, well they don't register. I was going to refund the game at this point, but meh I whipped up an Authotkey script that was a workaround. > No option to move built items, and no refunds for deconstruction. I build monstrosities for bases. Base-design is a chore. This was very disappointing and the proverbial nail in the coffin for me. > No sorting or inventory management QoL. I was able to grab some player made mods from Nexus to solve that, but c'mon. If players are modding your game to fix problems in an EA state, that is Bethesda Syndrome. > Combat is unremarkable in every way... it's like a Temu version of Palworld. > You will constantly get stuck everywhere, especially inside the map when teleporting from hearth to hearth. At least there is an unstuck option. It does not take away from the annoyances. > This is pretty taxing on your GPU. The ole fans were spinning to maintain 60c and I had that dropped down to 2500.
I love my familiar and that you can spend your level up points in whichever manner you choose to fit whichever playstyle you want to go with. The player character voice lines are a charming touch.
Really nice and fun cozy game. Combat is pretty decent and the graphics and gameplay are pretty good. Right now you choose between either spell caster or a spellblade. Hopefully maybe they will add more in the future. There are some quality of life improvements that need improvement but they are aware and working on them. The main complaint I have is the compass and direction of where your objective is isn’t clearly displayed. It can be confusing and leave you lost at times. I do like how you capture your familiars as it’s random and leaves you searching for that really good one to capture and make yours. The tree where you spend your points isn’t bad but I believe they said that they will be expanding on it as well in future updates. Overall I’ve been having fun. I made it to the second biome and there are more coming in future updates. I do recommend checking it out especially if you’re a fan of survival type games and exploration games. So far I give it a 7.5/10. Will probably go higher with future updates in early access
This game has everything that I love - character development, fun and cute companions/familiars, building, crafting, adventures, an interesting storyline, with more things on it's way. I'm excited to see what is coming next!
Witchspire is a really fun fantasy game and a great way to kill time.
I really enjoy playin this game! At this stage only upgrade I would like to see sorting on the chest and auto selective take from my inventory to the chests. I have to go through one by one every item or take all takes everything even the things I want to keep.
I played during the beta and I had fun. The game was still very early built and had a lot of basic room to grow... I had a lot of choice things to say about the combat, familiar drop rates and general gameplay... Now playing the Early access I can see that A LOT of polishing has been done. The broom is perfect and working to use it in a new area feels great, maybe to easy. The voice acting is great and I really like the game. However, I am recommending it only because I saw a lot of positive changes from the beta and believe the devs will continue in that direction. This should have split-screen play. There is no reason for it no to, it isn't a graphically demanding game. The combat is still too familiar(pet) based. basic attack, MP charge attack, and your actual skills are familiar abilities... This feels bad, non-magic, and cluncky. It's a witch game... why do i need to carry a full book for 1 spell just to cast it once and be out of mp? It's a waste of inventory. Wands are vastly better than swords, the RNG is too heavy. You RNG for a familiar to linger, RNG to catch it, RNG for a color change or astral with RNG that it will be a good tier with RNG stat bonuses... I really like the games direction, but it needs to push more or it will not last. The survival craft genre is saturated. Pick up the creativity. Make this standout. I really have high hopes.
