About
Witchfire is a single-player RPG shooter from the creative minds behind Painkiller and Bulletstorm. Embark on perilous expeditions, vanquishing foes to enhance your powers and arsenal. Scavenge valuable resources and retreat to your sanctuary, or push your luck by confronting Familiars— the powerful guardians of the witch.

Skill and knowledge are essential for success against the Witch of the Black Sea and her witchfire-fueled army. If you die, return to the battlefield for a one-time chance to reclaim what you lost, or attack again with a new plan.

Explore vast, immersive biomes and choose your battleground to confront the witch's forces. Each completed encounter strengthens you and your arsenal through the roguelite system called Arcana. There are countless ways to build your preyer and dominate the witch.

Only the most wicked sinners are transformed into preyers, undead assassins sustained by witchfire flowing through their veins. In the base of operations known as the Hermitory, you can choose from a wide selection of distinctive weapons, spells, and artifacts to build your own preyer.

On each expedition, you can extract your looted items or, if you feel confident, confront the witch’s Familiar to unlock new areas and powerful items and upgrades.

Piece together a story from the past to save the future. Investigate ships crashing on the verge of the witch’s land and locate the artifact that can tip the scales in the ongoing war between the Church and the witches.

During the Early Access period, Witchfire will undergo changes, including new areas, enemies, weapons, and tools of destruction. Help us shape the game to reach its full potential!

I've liked it so far. It's a good mix between a sweaty souls game, an ARPG, and an extraction shooter.
I can't stop playing this game... Its slow at the start but once you get a hang of it you just keep playing it no stop... It runs butter smooth too
Great game
love how hard it gets
It's a really good foundation to build on. Fun and tactical. It doesn't hold your hand or explain much of anything so it can be fun or annoying. I looked up a few things so far but for the most part I left myself to figure it out. The progression feels shallow at first but as you get stronger you realize there is a lot that is held back until you level up. The freedom to progress when you want is good as well. There are player levels and something called gnosis that both contribute to damage dealt and difficulty. You're not thrown into stuff that is too hard too quickly. You will die though. And you will die a lot. It is not an easy game but learning tactics and experimenting with spell and gun combos is fun. A few drawbacks that I hope they fix is I constantly get stuck on the dumbest ♥♥♥♥ when trying to fight enemies. A blade of grass, a crack on the cobblestone side walk, a root you can barely notice, all prevent you from moving and I have died many times fighting enemies and getting stuck on stupid ♥♥♥♥ like that. Another issue is when you play the harder maps later on sometimes you have no idea wtf is killing you. You'll be firing at 5-10 enemies and then all of a sudden you are thrown back 20 meters with magic going off around you and you have no clue what enemy its coming from. I have died so many times without even knowing what enemy is doing damage or what enemies are ranged that I need to take care of early. Kind of frustrating that way but I hope they fix it or make it easier to tell. Having a fog of war or some way on the main map to keep track of where I have and havent been would be helpful. Also there is an issue with enemies showing up on radar but the mini map doesnt tell you that they are above or below you. Maps are often multi leveled so a way to know that a group of enemies approaching you are in fact below you in the sewers and cannot harm you would be helpful. Runs great and looks amazing. Story is meh but I'm only level 72 so I dont think I have gotten far into it yet. Only on my third gnosis and I read the level cap is 450 something so who knows what will happen. I love it so far!
