Let me preface this review by saying that I am completely and utterly biased as i know the devs and looked on in awe as they poured love and sweat into this game for years. ^^ Looking for Rubble: Curious Mylo's alchemical altercations with wisp kind is a quaint rpg maker style game with light puzzle elements perfect for a cozy evening. The story stalls for a moment in the middle but towards the end had me genuinely curious where it will lead. It's characters had me chuckle more than a few times, my favourite by far being the flower lady. The game signposts it's puzzles well and at no point did i feel stuck or frustrated. It features a great variety of mechanics especially considering it's relatively short runtime. All of them are introduced organically and clearly giving you exactly what you need to find the solution without giving it away. The only criticism one could levy is that they don't build upon one another, but each section has a good degree of escalation in complexity within itself. The art-style fits the tone of the game really well and looks great, and together with the writing gives each of the townsfolk a unique feel. I recommend Wisp Child to anyone looking to spend a rainy afternoon wrapped in a blanket with a hot cup of tea and an endearing story to keep them company. You may see the odd seam sticking out or things not quite fitting into one another perfectly, but this only adds to the home-made charm of the game. It is clear beginning to end this was a labour of love. Though it may not be for everyone, it is a promising first title from beast game studios and a genuine achievement. I for one know: Mylo & Ademia will stick with me for quite some time.
A lovely experience that only takes a few hours to enjoy. The writing is mostly fun and hilarious at times, the art is adorable, characters unique, and gameplay fun enough to keep you entertained throughout the whole duration of the game. Definitely worth the price if you’re after a short little adventure you can pick up and enjoy for a few hours.
This game is absolutely beautiful! Would recommend if you have a bit of time and you want a nice relaxing atmosphere with puzzle elements...!
Really sweet game! The game art is beautiful and i really liked the voice acting! I just wish it was longer <3
Awesome game, cant wait for the sequel!
I played this from start to finish on Halloween and honestly the holiday has never felt so cute! It has some spooky moments but the word that kept coming up, when I wasn't laughing, was adorable. It felt like it ended too soon, I was prepared to do ten more chapters!
Wisp child is a short and sweet game, but one that's brimming with charm from beginning to end. It's clear that a lot of love was poured into the game, especially in the art, design and story. And it's those elements you should come for. Don't go into this expecting a tough as nails adventure game. There are puzzles and combat to keep things engaging (and constantly mix things up so you've never quite doing the same thing twice), but really it's story first, and an endearing one at that.
a short but sweet game with a beautiful art style. the developers are a family i owe many great video game and real life adventures to and seeing their passion for the craft executed like this had me very emotional. i hope you all keep creating as i loved the story, art, music and combat system so much! (That top milk, That cream, Pure vanilla, Sweeteners, That's a 10)
Highly recommend playing Wisp Child to anyone who enjoys cute lovable adventure puzzle games - a lovely way to spend an afternoon! Enjoy a fun, intriguing story line and game play with adorable visuals as you explore and uncover the secrets of the Wisps!
