No campaign, no anything, and looks like abandonware. Nice tech demo of what could've been, but there's nothing to this game. Definitely pass on getting this game, and I will delete this game and never buy anything from Dire Wolf ever again...
3/10 gameplay is very basic and hardly any content in game - why is the map sooo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ small? 90% of what you do is trying not to fly out of bounds 1st games ive played flew off the map in both oooh no my rudder jammed you cant turn that way. but i need to..... - need 3rd-Party Account: Dire Wolf to play online + dont need 3rd-Party Account: Dire Wolf to play offline challenges + works on windows 7

It's a solid game for a few hours. I wish there were more planes to earn or purchase. The game made me want to get into the tabletop version but it's hard to find. I'll echo the sentiment that this feels like abandonware since it's been out for 2 years with no additional content added. Worth it if on sale.
The game itself is well made. But it simply lacks content! There are only a few aircraft, no campaign at all, and a relatively small map.
Great game but not enough planes. Does not even have your own personal pilot. Shame. catch it on sale.
-> Barebones game: - only one map background (as opposed to 3 in the tabletop) - 8 planes (as opposed to like 20 in the tabletop) - no campaign -> Distances and angles are much harder to estimate than in the tabletop causing the player to fly off the needlessly tiny battlemap constantly resulting in the loss of the game. (an option to overlay the movement cards (even just one at a time) directly 1:1 on the battlemap would have helped. -> The game (as the tabletop) is EXTREMELY RNG focused. In one of the challenges you need to save a severly damaged camel and defend it with a DH4. By some miracle I managed to deal 18 damage cards at one of the two opposing Fokker DVII during the course of the game. The DVII still flying. On the other hand if you get unlucky your planes can be shot down in the first round if you get hit by two opponents and draw unlucky cards. Or your plane can be doomed in the first round if it gets close to the border of the map (remember the map is tiny) and draws a damage card locking the ruder in the direction you must fly to NOT run off the map. This is not speaking of the explosion card which immediatly destroys the plane (this can be turned off thoug as it also is an optional card in the tabletop). -> Also I strongly suspect the AI knows the player moves beforehand, only making "dumb" decisions on purpose depending on the difficulty setting. This makes surprise manouvers pointless. -> The challenges are absolutely infuriating. I tried the camel escape mission against the two Fokker DVII about 25 times, never managing it. Why? Because the Camel isn't much use as it has no health points left and you loose the game if you loose it, and secondly because the only other plane you have is the DH4 which may have a rear gunner but turns like a bus and does no immelmans. As such you don't have any tactical options and it is extremely predictable. The outcome of the game is then down to luck as to what damage cards are drawn. Fun gameplay...
I like it. I have this also on my phone to play, and I've played the Table Top version for a number of years now (aw well as the ww2 version and SoG) Its well done and so very close to the TT game, its fun. I just wish for more... it seems to be forgotten about which is sad, hopefully they come back to it (and I would love to see the other 'of glory games made into something like this too) You can play Online, against AI, or hot seat it If ya got a few bucks spare, and like turn based strategy table-top style games, give it a shot.. but I would say grab it on sale for I feel its sadly forgotten about by the devs.
Good adaptation of the first couple sets of the board game Wings of War/Glory "Famous Aces" and "Watch Your Back" with a little of anti air and bombing from "Burning Drachens" thrown in. No bugs, nice graphics representation of the game. I like the automatic implementation of rules and warnings. Rules are easy to understand as well as good job on user interfacing. But I wouldn't recommend unless the developers release more DLC or expand it in the form of full "Burning Drachens" and "Flight of the Giants" rules and planes so we can get anti-air artillary, barrage/observation balloons and the big WW 1 multi-seat bombers. Also possibly a scenario generator , campaign generator, as without them the ace benefits added into the game get diminished meaning. With this on computer they also have the chance to implement moving map or maps big enough to allow Zepplins/Airships. Something not able to be done with the TT games as the models to scale would've made the airships about 3 1/2 feet long, more aircraft for bigger battles.Without any of this add on stuff you'll play through all the solo stuff pretty quick and then it leaves you with not much replayability. Haven;t been able to find anyone to play it on line either so I bet that playability ran out fast too given the limited scope of the game as released. There's way more to possibly develop on this game alone as well as the WW 2 version and expansions. it's a fun game but way to short with not much replayability as is for the price. Can't recommend as is. Sorry.
Having played the original Wings of War, this is a good simulation of the game. It'll never be Red Baron, but it is fun to run random loadouts in the game. I have not yet entered into the PvP portion of the game, so I am unsure of the size of the player base. If you liked Wings of War (or the re-release Wings of Glory), this will be a fun game. That said, it really would be awesome to see some of the earlier planes. WoW/WoG has so many accurately painted planes of the entire war, and being limited to just 3 Scouts and 1 two-seater per side to choose from when the artwork and the maneuver decks are already done seems a waste of potential.
