About
Windrose is a survival adventure set in an alternative Age of Piracy. It features the classic “build, craft, survive” formula along with intense combat and engaging exploration on land and sea.
Progress through vast procedurally generated biomes filled with hidden mysteries, hand-crafted dungeons and quests. Gather your crew and captain your ship through brutal naval combat with boarding actions and seamless transitions between ship and shore.
Defeat challenging bosses on your swashbuckling adventure driven by real-world characters and supernatural forces alike.
Every legend begins with a reckless crossing.
You are a captain who dares to challenge Blackbeard. What begins as a grounded story of survival and revenge draws you into a growing conflict between empires, pirate clans, and mysterious dark powers looming on the horizon. Windrose is steeped in the allure of the Age of Piracy.
Answer the call of the seas and move seamlessly between ship and shore. Naval combat is shaped by your decisions, whether you’re trading cannon fire at range or closing in for fierce boarding actions. Equip and customize your ship to suit your playstyle, from nimble ketch to versatile brig and monstrous frigate. And when the cannons go silent, claim your spoils and share a sea shanty with your crew as you sail onward.
Establish a foothold in vibrant, diverse biomes, gather resources, and build to your own taste, from simple shelters to elaborate mansions and fully developed forts. Recruit NPCs and grow your settlement to speed up harvesting and production.
This world belongs to the brave and the curious, so venture into the uncharted lands. Over 100 hand-crafted dungeons and points of interest contain endless secrets and treasures, though such rewards rarely come without risk. Trade with different factions to gain the edge you’ll need.
Hack, slash, batter, and shoot your way forward! Master a wide arsenal of melee weapons and firearms. Parry and dodge enemy attacks, chain different strikes, and keep an eye out for new gear, including sabers, rapiers, halberds, greatswords, pistols, muskets, and more.
Shape your combat style through talents and flexible loadouts with unique armor sets. Use food and potions to gain powerful buffs. Test your skills against a wide range of enemies and challenging bosses, defeat them, and claim their treasures.
Windrose is fully playable solo offline or in co-op with friends, supporting up to 8 players, with both self-hosted and dedicated servers available. Procedural generation will make each journey stand out. Please note: due to performance, especially in the late game, we recommend to play in the party up to 4 players for the optimal experience.

Keep in mind my preferences. I loved Ark, I played quite a bit of Sea of Thieves as well. The base of this game is really fun. It has a great structure and premise to it. However, the combat is just miserably unfun. It feels like a dark souls dashing game. My pinky finger is KILLING me from all of the clicking Ctrl I am doing. It is just NOT fun!
First, let me start with I am excited about this game. And BLUFF - I would recommend it, but not yet. I mostly like it. However, the progression is garbage. I have worked to level 7. I have a teammate that is also level 7. We tried Richards at 5 and got owned. We've explored a lot. We are in zones well beyond our level doing the die/respawn/hurry to the mob before he resets/repeat pattern and honestly its just not fun. To me dying should be an indicator your not ready, not a play pattern to work thorough. So according to one of the quests, it is level 4 and is a Richards quest. Then there is a level 9 Richards quest. So there is nothing more to do at our level, the XP is slow without advancing or exploration. I am capped in every way and still cannot progress. This I think is a wannabe Souls type game, but isn't good at it. The idea is great, but honestly I have hit a wall that I just don't think I care enough to try to climb. It has gotten un-fun. It started strong, has a lot of potential, but I think the structure does not support my style of play. I don't mind a challenge, but 10 to 20 attempts at a boss is not fun to me. I hope the get this dialed in because I like the content and overall game play a lot. Just not the progression. Its almost like there is a lot of missing quests or content that should level you up to 9 or 10 so you can do Richards. Or maybe I should have been born a Korean 12 year old. I don't have that much focus. I'll check back from time to time to see if something new has happened, but for now, I think I am over it. I really want to like it... heck, I really do .. except.
Not a bad game considering I'm coming from just under 2000 hours of ATLAS play. There is a lot of great potential for the game. However, a few minor bugs that I'm confident will be addressed in the next patch. I was pretty excited to get the Boar Pet and to my surprise that little hog does some decent damage! Would be cool if they introduced a few other pets, or possibly the ability to tame/etc. Hook me up with a simple bow and arrow too! Currently building the Epic Frigate and I'm excited to wipe out the groups of pirates with all that damage and health! Definitely worth it for the price point. Would not be surprised when the price of this doubles after EA. Lots of fun and a bit challenging on the normal difficulty setting.
10/10
great game progression so far. haven't played into end game or anything but the combat seems rewarded and can be difficult. not a farming simulator, resources are easy enough to come by. 10/10
Cooles Spiel, macht wirklich Spaß. Einziger Haken ist das Combat System, nicht flüssig und auch überhaupt nicht gut designed, bitte überarbeiten.
good
Oyunu 18 temmuz 2026 tarihinden yazıyorum oyun a girmek için 43 dakikadır lobi açmaya çalıştığından iade ediyorum belki daha sonra tekrar alıp denerim ama yazdığım tarihte oyuna 43 dakikadır lobbi açmıyor internette 2 saate kadar çıktığı yazdığından iade edememişler dikkat edi.n
I have been looking for a game JUST like this one. I am so happy with the graphics, the game play (both on land and on the sea). Quests are cool... buried treasure... sea battles... boarding enemy ships... house building...etc etc etc. Having a blast... and... if you do get this game... remember to hit "B" while on the seas for some sea chanties. Puts you right in the "sailing the open sea" spirit. Devs have done a great job with this game!!
