About
Windrose is a survival adventure set in an alternative Age of Piracy. It features the classic “build, craft, survive” formula along with intense combat and engaging exploration on land and sea.
Progress through vast procedurally generated biomes filled with hidden mysteries, hand-crafted dungeons and quests. Gather your crew and captain your ship through brutal naval combat with boarding actions and seamless transitions between ship and shore.
Defeat challenging bosses on your swashbuckling adventure driven by real-world characters and supernatural forces alike.
Every legend begins with a reckless crossing.
You are a captain who dares to challenge Blackbeard. What begins as a grounded story of survival and revenge draws you into a growing conflict between empires, pirate clans, and mysterious dark powers looming on the horizon. Windrose is steeped in the allure of the Age of Piracy.
Answer the call of the seas and move seamlessly between ship and shore. Naval combat is shaped by your decisions, whether you’re trading cannon fire at range or closing in for fierce boarding actions. Equip and customize your ship to suit your playstyle, from nimble ketch to versatile brig and monstrous frigate. And when the cannons go silent, claim your spoils and share a sea shanty with your crew as you sail onward.
Establish a foothold in vibrant, diverse biomes, gather resources, and build to your own taste, from simple shelters to elaborate mansions and fully developed forts. Recruit NPCs and grow your settlement to speed up harvesting and production.
This world belongs to the brave and the curious, so venture into the uncharted lands. Over 100 hand-crafted dungeons and points of interest contain endless secrets and treasures, though such rewards rarely come without risk. Trade with different factions to gain the edge you’ll need.
Hack, slash, batter, and shoot your way forward! Master a wide arsenal of melee weapons and firearms. Parry and dodge enemy attacks, chain different strikes, and keep an eye out for new gear, including sabers, rapiers, halberds, greatswords, pistols, muskets, and more.
Shape your combat style through talents and flexible loadouts with unique armor sets. Use food and potions to gain powerful buffs. Test your skills against a wide range of enemies and challenging bosses, defeat them, and claim their treasures.
Windrose is fully playable solo offline or in co-op with friends, supporting up to 8 players, with both self-hosted and dedicated servers available. Procedural generation will make each journey stand out. Please note: due to performance, especially in the late game, we recommend to play in the party up to 4 players for the optimal experience.

There are many aspects of the game that I really enjoy. What I like most is the ability to fast travel with the ship any where at any time, as long as your not in a naval battle. The fighting mechanics in game are a bit rough to get down, and I wish there was some way to better understand it in game besides dying, but it is a very fun game for me, well put together. Being able to call your ship on a whim is a great feature as well. Its a challenging and fun game to play. I will mention that my current computer specs are NOT enough for this game, and I do lag a lot, however, I am still able to play, with out any other issues.
Dear Developers, I just wanted to reach out and give you huge praise for Windrose! You have built an absolutely fantastic game here, and I truly hope you keep moving in this direction. What I love most about Windrose is its incredible player-friendliness. You manage to keep the game challenging without ever making it frustrating. Here are a few things about your game design that I especially love: Customizable Difficulty (My absolute highlight): For me personally, being able to adjust the difficulty yourself is the most important feature of all. I’m not the youngest anymore and I’m also dealing with health issues. I have very unpredictable days—on some days I feel great and welcome a challenge, while on worse days I need to set it to a significantly easier level just to be able to enjoy it. The fact that your game gives me this kind of freedom means the world to me. It brings so much joy and strength into my daily life! The Great Humor: I absolutely love your sense of humor! A perfect example: I mean, who on earth kills the Dodos? The poor Dodos! Little charming details like that always put a big smile on my face. No Unnecessary Backtracking & Fair Save Points: It’s so refreshing that you don’t have to walk endless distances. Being able to set up your own save point (like the tent) practically anywhere is an absolute game-changer. I might die a thousand deaths, but because my tent is right there, I'm motivated to try again instantly instead of quitting in frustration. Perfect Balance in Difficulty: At its core, the game has a wonderful balance. It is definitely not too easy, but it never feels unfairly difficult either. Gameplay Flexibility: I love how seamless it is to swap weapons and try out a completely different playstyle. Being able to reset skill points so easily takes all the pressure off and makes experimenting incredibly fun. The Dynamic World: The fact that the island changes when you start fresh keeps the game exciting in the long run. You hit the perfect sweet spot here: it feels fresh and different, but not so drastically altered that you completely lose your bearings. Please keep this design philosophy and your wonderful humor alive! This exact mix makes Windrose such a smooth, accessible, and above all, deeply enjoyable experience for everyone. Keep up the amazing work, I can't wait to see what's next!
It is a good came to play and it is fun
So far great game, luv it! :)
Jogo bom, recomendo 100%!
Sau Geillllllll !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really enjoying this game, my only complaint is that you can't pause the game when playing solo, I've went afk and come back to being killed a few times and it's annoying. But regardless of that, I'm enjoying the game and definitely looking forward to future updates
What would we do with a drunken sailor?
This game is a blast for my kids and I. I have a 7 year old daughter and 4 year old boy. They play on steam decks and I play on a pc. We have been enjoying adventuring, looting, fighting, building, and leveling together. Our most fun seems to be sailing while singing along with the Sea shanties and attacking anything that moves. I captain the helm and they man the guns and its fun and exciting. I like the custom difficulties so we can adjust as they grow and understand the game mechanics and yet I still get a challenge. It is a new game and is still developing but base play makes the game enjoyable and we are looking forward to the future of this game. Were hoping for things like weather and rough seas, sea monster battles or threats, and MORE LOOTING! We are exploring, gear, and loot driven. At this point we're as far as we can go in those aspects so we're focusing on sailing the entire map and base building. We're also hoping for a development of more diverse ability, weapon, and gear builds. For now its entertaining enough and something we enjoy as a family. Keep up the good work folks!
