Who Summoned It?

Loved it! Played in one sitting, story was cohesive and the mysteries made logical sense. There are a few grammatical errors and no achievements, but I enjoyed every minute

[EDIT: Updated this review to be more constructive and not fueled by the 1am crankies] Artwork and writing are incredible, these developers are clearly talented. Which makes it a bummer that I have to mark this as a mild Do Not Recommend because the game was functionally inaccessible due to tiny, unadjustable text and UI elements. I try to give new releases a pass on accessibility for a while, but the text here was so small and inconsistent that I literally could not read the clues or the settings menu without a magnifier app. This crossed the line from a polish issue to a fundamental barrier that made the game very difficult to play. The developers have acknowledged the UI issue which is a step in the right direction. The third worst thing a detective game can do is add a math puzzle. The fourth worst thing is adding SAT questions. This game does both…but they’re not the primary gameplay mechanics and I’ve forgiven other games that have done worse. (first worst is mini-games and second worst is platforming/stealth/QTEs, which we managed to dodge here. haha get it? dodge?) More upsetting, at some point you can peek into people’s pockets for clues. This “peek-pocket" mechanic basically hands you the solutions to everything, undermining the very clever dialog-based and environmental clues the developers have expertly folded into the game. Those expertly folded in clues were so well done I completed most of the mysteries that would’ve otherwise been spoiled before I even discovered the peek-pocketing mechanic. This was very much an example of the devs acting out that “putting a stick in your own bicycle spokes” meme situation. Fortunately, you only really need to use the peek-pocket mechanic once and it should be pretty obvious when the time comes, so this is a blessedly avoidable problem. This could have been a cozy and whimsical investigation for a wide audience with a few hiccups, instead it is a cozy and whimsical investigation only for people with 120/20 vision with a few hiccups.

I first stumbled onto this game through its demo during Nextfest October 2025. A wonderful little gem of a game by a small team that evokes mystery games like The Golden Idol, the charm of old Lucas Arts adventure games, and a sprinkling of Terry Pratchett-esque whimsy and satire

IMPORTANT NOTE: I played this game on Linux using Proton: the game runs smoothly with one exception: you will need to drag the answers to the answer boxes. Clicking on the answer with the box selected will sometimes lead to a game crash: it took me several hours to realize that was what was causing it. It's a testament to the game that I was willing to spend at least several hours battling with this bug! Dragging the answers completely side-steps this issue, which is good news for all the Linux users out there! Please play this game!! Onto the review itself: This is an absolute gem of a game!! I loved every second of it: the music, the characters, the witty dialogue, the mysteries! I think the game does a wonderful job of pacing it's multitude of mysteries that all, eventually tie together. And the amount is quite satisfying, too! Maybe the character information was a bit excessive to fill out (I didn't realize that there was a whole separate tab for them for the longest time, whoops), but otherwise solving mysteries never felt like a chore, I wanted to prove that I figured out what was going on. The dialogue was so well-written, it never felt like a chore to ask characters about different topics, especially because you could often figure out or start suspecting things that wouldn't be confirmed until much later. I was very impressed with the writing, in general! To sum up: highly recommend this game to folks who love deduction/investigation/mystery games and now I desperately want to play Riki's next adventure!!

Behind the cute graphics there is actually quite an involved mystery to solve. Mixing the point and click investigation with fill in the blanks mechanics works really well. The writing it good and fun. Overall a delightful and interesting investigation game!

Im on the fence about recomending this. I know that its a skill issue, but this game is way too difficult imo. Other games of the same type are also tough, but at least the give you a bit of leniency/ hints. This one just gives no guidance. The hint system really needs an update, or the clues need to be slightly more obvious. Preferably the first suggestion. Update: Now there is a hint system! :)

This was a really fun mystery! Surprisingly more involved detective work than I was expecting (which is a great thing)! I love Riki as a protagonist and would love to see more of his adventures. I thought the writing and ways the clues were given throughout the story were cleverly done. I really enjoyed playing this game!

Had a great time playing it. All characters are cute and the mystery is quite deep, with lots of little mysteries interconencted to find out yourself. Great little game !
