About
Embark on a voyage of environmental salvation and collection with Clean the Sea!—a compelling experience now on Steam.
In a world where the oceans are burdened by humanity's neglect, Clean the Sea! challenges you to pilot a lone vessel on a noble quest: cleanse the waters, rescue marine life, and turn the tide on pollution. As you navigate through tranquil yet troubled waters, your mission is not just to collect refuse but to catalyze change—one scoop of trash at a time.
Your quest will take you across the globe to some of the most iconic and afflicted waterways on the planet. Each location offers unique challenges and opportunities, from the icy embrace of the Antarctic to the historic waterways of Amsterdam. As you progress, you'll witness the tangible impact of your efforts, bringing life and color back to places once choked by waste.

Dive into "Clean the Sea!" where your main quest is to pick up trash. Every piece you collect—bottles, bags, you name it—helps clean up the ocean. Sell the trash, get cash, and watch as the sea transforms back to its natural beauty.

Start with a small skiff and aim high. Upgrades make a big difference: a faster ship speeds up your clean-up missions, and a larger picker increases how much trash you can collect. Upgrade from a skiff to a cruiser, making your clean-up efforts more effective and far-reaching.

Boost your clean-up game by hiring a fleet of mini-ships. These vessels autonomously collect trash, multiplying your impact without extra effort from you. This fleet represents your commitment to efficiency, helping you tackle more of the ocean's pollution with every trip.

As the trash clears, marine life returns to the once-polluted waters. Witness the transformation as dolphins, turtles, and fish reappear, breathing life back into their habitats. This revival of ocean life is a beautiful testament to your hard work and dedication to the cause.

The main experience is designed to last around one hour, offering a focused journey from polluted waters to a restored ocean. After completion, New Game+ unlocks, letting you restart with your upgrades while facing greater trash density and new challenges, encouraging faster and more efficient runs.

I thank my friend, Gypsyrose, for this wonderful tribute game. I like games that save the environment. Although, it might not save the physical world, it teaches players the importance of nature, the fight against pollution, littering and it helps them visualise how better it is to clean the seas, the oceans. It's great to see that blue-green emerald color without all sorts of things. Can you even imagine that there are market carts in the seas? How did they get there? I understand a car (from a dive in accident), but not carts... Okay, who the d*ng throws their mattresses in the water? PROS: - Easy to learn mechanics; - Nice vivid colors; - Nice music; - Money, gold, junk selling and upgrades; - Easy to obtain Achievements; - Be aware of the Map (don't click the new location if you haven't finished cleaning - You can't get back). CONS: - I wish that the "Area cleared" title would appear after I have taken all the junk out. Terry (Lord Longlegs) loved these sort of games and I applaud him for this. Let me say it again. May God rest you in peace, Terry. You will never be forgotten. Amen.
Sinopsis
Clean the Sea!

About an hour of gameplay. Apparently it's a port of a f2p mobile game. It has a VERY samey game-play loop but I personally don't mind that much. I finished the areas and it says on the map that a new area is "coming soon" but I can find 0 information on that. It has a nice chill background music. It's easy to just zone out and play. Doesn't feel very "finished" but I grabbed it on sale at £1.24 so it's okay. I don't think I'd really recommend it like this though.
I really hate to give negative reviews, But there is no neutral option and it feels wrong to give it a positive recommendation. this is really not a long game, or one that feels fun to replay. Before I get into the negative I would like to say what I enjoyed about the game. - The visual style of the game is cute. Yeah personally that's all That I can say positively about the game. There are other cleaning games like this that are more than just "cute"... Onto my real review: Pretty straightforward game. Feels like those F2p Mobile games that spam you with ads. There is no reason to use your coins on anything except more money (and to rent 1 drone for an achievement) scaling is basically nonexistent, each level all the new areas cost the same, and the ability to transform coins into money easily allows one to level up their boat to clear areas Immediately.
Fun, but short (50 mins for me) game. Get it on sale.
Get "Spilled!" instead. There is no variety in this game and it's really unsatisfitying since you never actually clean the trash when it just continues to float up. While that's helpful if you want cash to upgrade your boat, it's tedious since there's zero variety. Each level, each map, it's exactly the same thing. I was also frustrated that I can spend money on various helpers, but most of the cash that comes flying at my boat for them ends up scattered all over the sea. I had six helper boats and I missed out on much of their cash as I can either chase their money or get my own by getting trash. The game was even shorter than "Spilled!" on top of that. Fine for the $3 I paid, but if you haven't played "Spilled!" go with that option instead. This game only beats "Spilled!" on the graphics.
A small and fun game. Nice music and upgrades. The only minus is that it is too short and the upgrades are as if made for a big game. Best with a discount. And to unlock the new territory, I had to start a new game and only then did I unlock a new game plus.
Empty demo-game. Only engine and mechanics. I do not recommend. * No economic (you can only buy upgrades by selling gold in the bank) * Easy achievements * Bags (On the first map I spent money on upgrades and I didn't have enough to open a new zone. No new trash appeared and I was waiting for the chest to update to save up money. And if you return to the previous map and buy an upgrade, it won't be on the new map.)
Clean the Sea is a simplistic game that scratches that cleaning (and completionist) itch decently well. I finished all of the maps in about an hour with no issues getting all achievements. I think the music adds a lofi chill vibe, and the gameplay is smooth and easy to get the hang of. Each map has its own inhabitants that come back once the pollution is gone, which I think is a sweet touch. I really enjoyed the content, but I wish there was more. There's not a whole lot of replay value, unless I want to go in and clean up extra bits of trash as they float up, but after completing the maps it feels a bit tedious in comparison. I upgraded my ship to about half and had all of my fleet hired at level 2 before I finished; I think the grind to get more money for upgrades may be a bit tedious as well. Aside from adding more maps, I think this could be fixed with some sort of respawning map (or randomized event) that gives the original "clean up the pollution" setting. Overall, I think this is a sweet and fun game that is well made and quite enjoyable, albeit a bit short. I hope they add more content for this game in the future!
