Streamed it. Loved it. It's a super cute and interesting puzzle game where you have to put two and two together using a Truth Scroll, which will also flesh out the story as you play along. Tons of dialog and the puzzles really make you think. I'm enjoying it so far, and can't wait to continue playing.
Lovely ~5h detective game with genuinely surprising twists and turns. Occasional typos do very little to mar the overall charming and funny writing, which has a ye olde tongue-in-cheek sort of feel. The extra tools you uncover as you go - rat, cat, crystal ball - make it exciting to revisit scenes for richer investigative detail. I also can't get enough of the whimsical Banjo Kazooie style voice acting. Play it!
This is the kind of game me and my partner like to play at the end of a long day, sitting on the couch; puzzling, laughing, relaxing, and just enjoying being in the world. There is so much love put into this game, it's obvious the creators put their heart into it, and it shines especially in the character work! Every one is so unique and memorable, and their quirks round out the zaniness of the world. The art is fantastic, the music is great (incredible at striking the balance of background but also enjoyable); and the puzzling works really well in the same way a game like Curse of the Golden Idol works. I think a large overarching narrative really serves this game design well; with an interesting mystery, the fill-in-the-blank system reinforces what the player learns as information progresses. A wonderful and unique game! There's no other games like it. Can't wait for the next from Crooked Foot!
Such a delightful game! Every character you meet is a treat. Their dialogue lines and portraits had me laughing out loud multiple times. The well crafted story makes characters and a world that feel worth getting to know all the way to the end. Unraveling the mysteries and unlocking new maps and abilities keep things fresh. I can't get enough of this world I hope we see more in the future! Other major highlights: I played on my TV on the Steam Deck with an Xbox Controller and it played great! The sound track is amazing!
A great detective game! Every mystery is fun to figure out and the final answer is satisfying. Sometimes talking to everyone about everything can get a little bit stale, but the characters are entertaining enough, so the dialogues don't get boring until you have figured everything out.
This game has plenty of funny personality and plenty of mystery to keep you intrigued while you discover this lovingly crafted world. You owe it to yourself to find out Who Summoned It!
A beautifully written Golden Idol style deduction game, with great characterisation and a satisfying, well constructed mystery. This really is one of the best additions to the recent crop of fill in the blank mysteries. Particularly good if you want to enjoy some solid detective work without gore. I've never posted a review before, but this deserves a wider audience!
This game plays mostly like the Detective Grimoire/Tangle Tower point and click games, with a bit of extra complexity added via a somewhat Golden Idol-like deduction system. It's definitely not all the way there as a "Golden Idol-like", the fun really comes from the writing and characters moreso than the deduction gameplay, but it's still a fun time. It's an incredibly charming game that I enjoyed the entire way through, with only one single puzzle near the end that didn't quite work for me. The play time is a bit short. My playtime should be closer to 6 hours including the time I spent on the demo. That's not terrible, but I prefer to get a little more time out of a game like this.
A cute game that's big on personality. I loved discovering Knotgud to unravel the mystery of Who Summoned It, and you will too!
This is a delightful little game. Fans of Golden Idol, Obra Dinn etc will enjoy this whodunit adventure. It follows a similar pattern to Golden Idol, fill-in-the-blank deduction towards a greater mystery but takes form of one adventure as opposed to distinct levels.
