the mechanics are fine but momentum is a constant issue. if you jump without moving first you basically hold still in the air. but if you move and god forbid you bump into a step of a bump, you lose ALL your momentum and plummet. abyss is the area i find this to be a constant problem at and ended half of my runs. terrible design and it makes generally getting around a pain in the ass, there are some areas in SILOS the first area of the game that you cant just walk over, they mostly are platforms with a pipe half way sticking out the top of the platform, even though there are many pipes that you have no problem walking on, you can't walk over these, you have to CLIMB over them. this needs to be fixed. there are TONES of games that have a "step up" mechanic. it wouldnt be hard to add one to this game in the nest, there are paths that are "bait" and are half the time, unrecoverable problems. for a game that makes you invest 2 HOURS to get to that point, running into these areas and taking the "wrong path" makes me feel like my money and time isn't valued because all i can think about when i died to them is the devs going "heh. this'll be funny." lastly, the MAGORITY of my deaths that don't revolve around these 2 things has been fundamentally CORE MECHANICS. some examples of this that happen on an every zone basis are... -the cooldown to grab things again after letting go or jumping off a grip -the harpoon grabber not being able to grab it because the harpoon is in the way so once it dies i plummet to my death. this also happens a lot with the normal ones but because the harpoon one targets you and rips you off of whatever you're holding onto, it becomes a MASSIVE problem that is basically not recoverable -areas like in habitation and abyss having areas where the holds are soo spaced apart that you HAVE to rely on outside supplies to cross and if you dont have them then you can be softlocked or you have to turn around and waste time trying to find a way that you CAN continue from. a good example of this is areas with the moths in abyss. if you land too low or in an area where the developers didnt intend for you to be at, there's mostly ♥♥♥♥ all you can do about it because they gave you nothing to climb back up -and this is the dumbest of all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but this killed my last run and made me soo mad that i came to steam to write a review... grabbers DON'T ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DIE WHEN THEY ARE CONSUMED BY THE MASS. SO ONE CAN ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GRAB YOU WHILE COMPLETELY INSIDE THE MASS AND DRAG YOU DIRECTLY INTO THE MASS. this can happen ANYWHERE but it happened to me in the DAMN NEST AT THE END OF A 2 HOUR RUN look... the game IS fun. but if you're ok with feeling disrespected and wasting your time over and over again because of stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like this, this is your game. i would suspect that you arn't that kinda person and you probably also play games casually. for you, i dont recommend this game. i will probably pick this back up once they finish it but i will probably completely forget about this game and find out that it was finished after next year probably. but i wont be playing this anymore after i finish it because ♥♥♥♥ this game

I bought this on impulse, but it has quickly become one of my favorites of all time. There is insane depth to this that is hidden under the surface, not just in terms of lore, but in terms of gameplay and skill expression. I've watched a man beat one of the hardest sections of this game with no items and no perks because he knew about a dozen tricks that I didn't. The atmosphere of this game is incredible, the moment-to-moment gameplay intense and adrenaline-filled. I have still yet to beat it. Matter of fact, knowing what I now know about the game, I'd say I've seen about 40% of the game's content, because this is a game that has secrets on top of secrets. It tells you nothing. It drops you into the world, and it is on you to figure out what happened and how to survive. Small team put this out too, and I can't give enough kudos. I am eagerly looking forward to the next update.
Very fun lots of content and very good horror game when i have the guys chasing me and would be even more fun if there was multiplayer
YES
Really well made game! Definitely justifies the hype it's gotten thus far The gameplay is really solidly made, it feels very good and intuitive (at least if you've played climbing games before, I'm not sure how someone who's unexperienced would do with it). There's a lot of meat on this game's bones too, lots of content and stuff to do, along with secrets and alternate routes you can take. It also does a great job of varying the gameplay, with earlier levels getting more content and variety to them as you get further into the game. The atmosphere is really good, there's lots of ambience and random noises and stuff, along with a lot of world building you can find through out the game. It does a really good job of setting up just how dire the situation is. The art direction is killer too, I love how this game looks. Difficulty wise, yeah it can get fairly rough but I wouldn't say this is a really hard game, and it gets easier as you learn tech and unlock/discover more stuff and ways to deal with obstacles. There are also Trinkets you can equip before starting a run to change how you play the game, though you also need to equip Bindings to add more than one trinket, which make the game harder. So you can also add challenge to your runs if you'd like. Overall, very highly recommended if you like either climbing games like Peaks of Yore, or deep roguelites with lots of ways you can approach situations. And as someone who doesn't usually like roguelites that much because they're either hard, or get repetitive, this is a breath of fresh air for me.
buen juego, no se por que me gusto tanto, pero ojala saquen el core antes de que me muera
