One Must Imagine Sisyphus Happy. And damn this game makes me turn into quite the Jolly Jumper. The climbing mechanics in this are unparalleled. Left/right hand stamina that you have to micro-manage. The graphics are noisy and low poly, the hands are 2D and you can customize them. You're stuck in a subterranean complex and you gotta get the ♥♥♥♥ out of there or scary entities come get you, they have different behaviours and you have to deal with them. The vibes are oppressive, atmospheric and dark. The music is stressful and good. You will make jumps that will make your butt clench and your hands sweat. You will have to improvise with the objects you find in the multiple different tile sets that the game will throw at you, which makes it more skill-based than memorization. I didn't even finish the game yet and I can wholeheartedly recommend this game. 10/10 would White all over my Knuckles again. (also there's a multiplayer mod on Thunderstore)

I HATE THIS GAME GRRRR
very good game. but very irritating. very. very. irritating.
Probably the best climber game ever.
I am incredibly divided with this game, it feels like there is a lot to love here, the atmosphere and setting is extremely engaging, and the feel of the gameplay is mostly quite good. I can absolutely tell that this game is something special. I want to love it, and in a way I truly do love everything about it, but the actual act of playing the game is an incredibly tedious and frustrating experience. The learning curve is very steep, and the game asks a lot out of a new player almost immediately with very little time to ease in, often throwing you into situations where you have to multitask many things at once on a strict time limit before you even have the general feel of the controls down, the inventory is an especially bad offender as you'll often be required to use more items than you can carry in your hands at once while still hanging on to holds, or just simply in an extremely short period of time. I imagine that after a good 20 or so hours of building up muscle memory a lot of my gripes would disappear, but the process of learning is not a very fun or rewarding one. I have a strong urge to experience the lovingly crafted areas and set pieces, because when the game shines it is extremely excellent, however after almost every run I am just left wishing that the game wasn't a rougelike so that I could experience the areas in a more linear way, starting from the beginning after every death does not feel well suited for this game. Perhaps I am not the target audience for this kind of gameplay, or perhaps I just haven't pushed through far enough to really let it shine, I am not giving up on it just yet, however my motivation to continue lowers every time I try. I give the game a very reluctant recommendation, I feel that given the right amount of time and effort this game is a masterpiece, but everything before that point feels like a trudge.
White Knuckle is genuinely fun, creative, and ANXIETY INDUCING. It's a challenging game but you must endure climber, climb on.
Do you want to become stressed? White Knuckle is the most efficient method to become stressed that I have discovered. Good game.
Good Game. Knuckles indeed are very white.
