About
The corpos are after you. The cops are, too. Even your ex has crawled out of the grave to try and get you back. Meanwhile, the fate of the galaxy itself rests on a knife's edge, and only you can bar the doors of hell.
Whiskey-Four is a standalone 396,000-word interactive novel by John Louis. It's entirely text-based, without graphics or sound effects, and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.
You are a retired contract killer from the Anomalous Interference Unit. Injured on the line of duty, you were forced into an early retirement--only to be reactivated on a distant frontier world to address a horrific, unknowable threat.
A great sense of malaise permeates the void. Something big is stirring, something that jeopardizes the entire galaxy.
You're the only person in position to stop it before it's all too late.
Too bad everyone else wants you dead.

This reads like a hardened classic tropey noir. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the lack of actual choice involved in this story. I had no urge to play through it again - despite seeing the multiple achievements I missed - because I'm not sure how to manipulate the maze of 'options' to get there. In reality, so many of the choices played out as being nearly identical to one another, just worded differently.
Combine Mass Effect, Alpha Protocol, and HP Lovecraft. Turn it into a brutal, action movie-like, and interactive story. This is a good result. It has less "choice" than a lot of other CYOA's. It greatly reminds me of the original Mass Effect's main story structure where you are stuck on the rails of the story but how you choose to act and what you do on the way dictates your eventual outcome. The Main character's initial creation details have impact in the story and aren't just descriptive fluff like many other CYOA's. There is no stat tracking panel to guide you. This is more of an interactive novel or story, than a traditional CYOA. This was a very enjoyable read and I recommend it.

Whiskey: stupid sexy Ulysses/a Ulysses/a: stupid sexy Whiskey 2077+warhammar40k, action movie style. Retired V, back in action, with a yandere ex (and a castle and a driver and an old man and a single mom 8.5/10 It may feel linear and full of flavor choices at first, but there're actually a lot of variations and different timelines here. The writing is peak cinema, but a little too much action for me. It's as if I can feel Whiskey's fatigue and just want it all to end and retire = =; sry I have a weak mind Recommend playing the bad ending(die) at least once Don't worry, you can reload checkpoint(chpt.39) once you're dead. Better experience than going straight to the epilogue (then you'll have to start again if you want to see what the bad ending holds
Meaningful Choices? Nope
Great game, would recommend the author's other work as well.
Honestly better than a lot of physical books I have read. If you enjoy Mass Effect, I reckon you'd really enjoy this sci-fi action masterpiece. Words cannot fully express how good this is, just trust!
Sci-fi from the future with equipment from 1990. Embarrassing and stupid. They can do interstellar travel, but the only other thing they have is a dumb mobile phone. The story and plot were written by an idiot.
I like it despite its lack of polish. The story is enthralling even before the supernatural aspects come into frame. Your choices have a lot of impact on the ending which is nice, but you will probably need to follow a guide to get the outcome you want. No major issues but could've done with some proofreading.
