Whisker Squadron: Survivor

Solid on-rails shooter with some interesting roguelike mechanics. You also play as a cat so ... like +20 points.

Very fun. I think it would be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys star fox.

I am furious. I was so looking forward to this. I bought the first one in EA. Only to find out everyone got screwed over, because of one person.

I can't recommend this game for one main reason: it's unfinished, and it will stay that way. The game itself is fun and playable, but short. A bit intrigued, I went on the forums and discovered that the studio basically went bankrupt mid-2025, and their games were left to rot. I got it on sales, and it may be a good enough deal to come back to the game when I want a quick Star Fox-y run. But I don't see myself playing anymore knowing that there's barely any more content or story for me to unlock. Too bad, really :/

I really wanted to enjoy this. I grew up on Star Fox and Rogue Squadron, and I love roguelites & likes. But I just feel this experience is vapid. Cobbled together without any genuine thought into any sort of design. I hoped the narrative might save it, but it felt soulless.

Addictively fun

I really like it. It’s a compact yet entertaining arcade-style shooter. You can clear the three acts in about an hour, earning currency along the way to upgrade your ship or buy new vessels and weapons for another run through the game. If you find it too easy, you can make things a bit more difficult or interesting by enabling optional challenges. The visuals are clean and feature a stylish vaporwave aesthetic; the game runs smoothly and prioritizes functionality over cutting-edge graphics. I think the soundtrack is solid for an arcade game. And it has cats! I can highly recommend Whisker Squadron: Survivor.

Выглядит так, что разрабы попробовали, у них получилось оригинальненько, и они решили, что и так сойдёт. Увы, не сойдёт. Неотвратительно, но играется "киска в зоне риска" утомляюще однообразно.
