i allways wanted to vote but i dont life in AMERICA! but now i CAN VOTE! trump is my hero he will make this world great again so i voted for him. ALL HAIL TRUMP 11/10
Whack-A-Vote: Hammering the Polls is a VR only game set in a universe where you can only cast a vote by getting a rad new high-score on the whack-a-mole machine. Upon starting up the game you are in an abandoned building with a slip of paper asking you a few basic questions. You must fill them out with a colorful crayon of your choice but best hurry up and answer the form because the workers are having none of your nonsense and will jam you in the voting poll before you so much as scribble your dumb opinion. It's really annoying actually, a man is trying to draw a pony and 'The Man' brings your hopes & dreams crashing down. After being so rudely teleported into the poll and trying to smack the machine into working so you can just go home and catch up on Game of Thrones, you'll notice a slot machine that dishes out taxpayer money. With rubber chicken in hand I walk over and pull the lever, half expecting a Swat team to rush in any moment. To my surprise I won and out came a plethora of gold coins. After trying to stuff them in my pocket and remembering that I'm in VR I sigh, then halfheartedly jam a coin into the machine. Chicken at the ready I'm ready for Clinton or Trump to make their appearance and save America. To my surprise what showed up instead was Pepe the Frog. Shrugging I smacked Pepe as hard as I can and lost 10 points. Do not smack the Pepe, lesson learned. Immediately giving up I started to observe all the weapons in your disposal, them being a wiener, mallet, chicken, fish and other objects to wield. You can even duel wield if you are feeling particularly badass. Settling with the giant wiener I chucked in another coin and laid the smack down on Clinton & Trump as they emerged from the depths. Avoiding ♥♥♥♥ Cheney and Pepe, I racked in 69 points as balloons were released in celebration. Satisfied with the results I got ready to exit and realized an awful truth. There is no leaving that poll, none of what I did mattered, democracy is a lie! Panicked I starting waving my sausage (meat) out of the poll and into the empty room signaling for help to no avail. The only escape is to open the Steam Overlay and shut down the game, though it felt like I left my soul there in the process. So exactly like real voting I suppose. Moving on from me slowly going insane by playing whack-a-mole for an hour there is very little to this title. You are teleported before you can scribble anything on the form so you’re left with only the machine to mess around with. While the weapons are entertaining on a cosmetic level the hit detection is a tad off. The lack of rumble when you hit a target is disappointing so you have no feedback either. Whack-A-Vote used to be sold for a dollar but the devs took customer feedback to heart and made it into a free to play title, refunding all that paid for it. It is definitely worth a download for a couple minutes of fun as a small, free distraction.

Collision boxes are fairly poor and overall not worth the time it took me to download.
The game is very limited. Y ou can only play a whack-a-mole type game with the canidates as the moles. Its not a bad game, after playing for about 5 muintes it started to get really boring.
Played this and I think the concept is a bit sparse, but funny and a nice distraction. The different implements you can use are funny and widely varied, although I wish there were a few more unique sound effects. One bug I encountered was my crayon was about 6 inches off the table when it was writing on the registration form, not sure why this is, but it's consistent between playthroughs. The game moves extremely fast, and there isn't any discernable difficulty curve or setting, so I hope you're really good at whack-a-mole. The satirical likenesses of the current candidates made me laugh, and both are equally lampooned. The polish of the mechanics is very nice except for the absence of some sort of explanation of controls and a way to smoothly quit the game. Other things to do in the polling place would be nice, maybe throw a basketball or two, or tip ballot boxes over, shenanigans, etc. It's a great first start, and I look forward to future endeavors from this company.
Funny short VR experience for the Vive and very topical. Plus it's free so you may aswell try it out if you own a HTC Vive.
"Whack-a-Vote: Hammering the Polls" is a garbage political satire game with no real substance or interest as a serious or genuinely made game. I've said it before and I'll say it again, politics has no place in gaming, and yet every now and then terrible devs will try get rich and famous by shoving it down the throats of gamers. Not okay. This is just a Fischer-Price baby activity playset with a political skin on it. Look around a small environment in VR and play a couple of politically themed minigames. Or don't. In terms of visuals, this features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and while some developers struggle with creating high quality visuals, failing to do so is a disservice to gamers. It's very difficult to recommend bad looking games. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $1 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
Whack-a-Vote: Hammering the Polls is a Free VR game. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. The game is a simple clone of Whack a Mole. The different weapons in the booth have different hit patterns. You have to avoid hitting the rare Pepe, or you lose ten points. You can pick the candidate by putting in certain coin: Clinton, Trump or Both. You don't have to use hit motion, just sweep your weapons over the area. This game was paid product at one time, now it is free to play. Might be a bug , The Pepe some times pop up inside other heads and more than one head might pop up in the same hole. The crayon is not accurate. Thank you, Devs for making this game Free. The humor put into this game was great. Try it, maybe you might like it for a laugh and some arm exercise.
