One of the essentials for VR, especially if you're a fan of the Operation Wolf/Thunderbolt arcade experience. Beats the pants off the ZX Spectrum light phaser. See my review and comparison of old vs. new at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMXOV6L-dNs&feature=youtu.be
Operation Warcade VR will let you experience the game in an immersive and chaotic way. What is awesome is that you can enter the battlefield and use war vehicles. This game is a lot of fun & action! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jm5T_W_LlA Operation Warcade is a VR shooter that tries to bring back that gaming nostalgia by taking you to a classic virtual game arcade from the 80s and otherwise succeeds nicely. With the variety offered by the two game modes, along with the challenges, achievements, unlocks and a ranking system, there is plenty of opportunity to get hours and hours of gameplay out of this game. As you progress through the levels and take down enemies, you will also see a variety of special items that must be shot in order to be collected or activated. This includes special grenades that explode in strange and wonderful ways, other weapons like another dual-purpose Uzi, and the ultimate monkey - an immersion point that takes you into the real game. The two Operation Warcade machines offer a different experience depending on which one you play. While they both use the same level design and maps, the gameplay is slightly different.
This game is just outstanding in so many ways. There's so much variety and constant action. For example the point of player's view is constantly changing between sidescrolling and first-person sequences. You find yourself facing the enemy with knives, rocket launchers, sniperguns, shotguns and more, you even fly jets (you even can eject) and helicopters, drive trucks, and so on... all in first person perspective. Everything is very polished, sound is great, too. It feels like 7 or 8 different games while all of them are very well done. The game recreates an old arcade-game I used to play in the 80s. Very good job, I reeeaaaally dig it.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Awesome one of the best VR games I have played so far, the immersion arcade option is just epic. This is what should be coming out for VR, thank you just when I was getting a little jaded with some of the VR titles I have played recently something this fun comes along. Will be my show people VR game from now on as most can relate to the old arcade games but this new take will blow them away. Talk about making someone feel like Rambo, I can't highly recommend this game enough to anyone who has VR and has been a long time gamer.
It's like a childhood fantasy come true. You feel like you did as a kid playing Operation Wolf. It's crashed a couple of times, but seeing as it's short levels, it's not a deal breaker. I recommend this highly, I think most people will love it. EDIT: I now have 3 stars in every level. The crashing seems lots less frequent since todays patch. Can't wait for more content. This really is one of my favourite VR games ever!!! Keep up the great work.
Operation Warcade - Much much more than a chance to relive your childhood favorite arcade game!
Back when i was still relatively young there was a game in the arcade that really called to me, it was called Operation Wolf and instead of using the standard controller you got to use an uzi that was attached to the cabinet(and if you got to the arcade as they were turning on the systems you got to play it for free for a life :) shhhhhhh don't tell the arcade owners), so when i was sent a review copy of Operation Warcade i was both excited and a little apprehensive. Revisiting childhood games of yesteryear can often reveal that you are remembering them through rose tinted glasses. First let me be clear on this, i can not say if the game copies the level layout of Operation Wolf, the old arcade game may of sucked many an hour away from my life, made me late for a date and ate a lot of my loose change back in those years but i can not tell you the level layout lol, but the feel of the game is there, the style of the sound effects etc are perfect. ROOMSCALE / ENVIRONMENT / GRAPHICS When you load in you get two arcade cabinets in front of you and find yourself in a small arcade, the environment is fine for its purpose though i found some of the arcade denizens a little creepy. So why two arcade cabinets? One is the immersive mode (more on that in a second). The second one is the standard one, this plays much like the original arcade machine from way back then, though with a toggle to make the screen 3d (with an effect that would make any 3d tv hang itself from its power cord in shame, really it is that good of a 3d effect...but hey we are talking vr here and we all know that vr is better than 3d to a degree so high it is not worth talking about) So let us get to immersive, here is where this game really shines! As you load in you find yourself in a dark room with a large window, this overlooks the game, tiny enemies scurry about as you shoot them through the window, there are pickups there are special grenades, all in all if this was just what there was to the game i would be giving it a hearty recommendation, it is good, VERY good and a unique perspective to play in…..but it actually got even better, i shot a pickup and found myself moved into the game, i was driving an APC i was controlling the wheel with one hand and shooting with the other, this was amazing. Later on i got pulled into the flight seat of a fighter jet...which did not last very long as clearly the jet was defective and did not fly right (nothing to do with my piloting skills honest….ok ok it may of been my fault but it was hard to fly, but oh so very cool. There are more of these type of interactions and they make for a very cool feature in the game. PERFORMANCE I had no issues until i tried to up the video settings, this crashed my capture software and sent performance issues throughout, However that is more a streamer issue than one you will face every day (and the reason for the double video). INTUITIVENESS Certain things are not explained well or at all, i had no idea how to fly the plan or what i was expected to do in it for example or that i could teleport around the arcade, while this is not major it is something that the developer needs to improve. MULTIPLAYER: It has leaderboard support PROS:

Operation wolf.
The immersive mode viewpoint is awesome to play in!
The immersive mode “pulled into the game” moments are very cool.
There appears to be a lot of levels that will take a while to complete.
Although this is an old favorite and nostalgia can often cloud opinion of them it’s fresh perspective makes the game so much fun.
As well as the immersive mode you also get the classic mode which is like having your own arcade cabinet at home.
CONS:

Some of the controls (ie plane) are not well explained)
The arcade users are creepy….no really, i turned round to see a woman with her arms out like she was going to clap just shaking them while staring at me…..that is nightmare fuel man.
VIDEO This is actually the first and second tries together as i crashed the capture software changing the video settings and did not realise for a while (this also meant the second try i was a little tired lol) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MjDrD_qSW0 VERDICT If you have ever wanted an arcade cabinet in your home or played Operation wolf, then get this game. If you like to reward developers that create something unique (that viewpoint changing is indeed unique) get the game. If you like vr then....you know what...get the game, you will not regret it.
Such an excellent concept. Take an old arcade favorite like operation wolf or it's many other games just like it from the old arcade days and adapt it to VR. Once again just like Midway they did not deliver. Not even close. This game is terrible. Broken achievements. Broken game play. Terrible design choices. The hostages are like a terrible joke on players. The same few concepts repeated over and over in 6 levels to reach an artificial game length. I hope another developer does something like this, but actually puts skill and effort into it.
VR today is fun, but it seems as if the development teams are pretty much focused on certain genres of gaming. You have the first person shooter types - Half-Life, Boneworks, Pavlov, etc. Then you have your 'experiences' which aren't really games but rather immersive movies where you might have to point at some things or solve puzzles. Then of course you have your beat based games such as Beat Saber and Audica, Synthriders, etc. I love VR, don't get me wrong. But most of the games are pretty much the same style of gameplay. Sure, there are exceptions - Op. Warcade is one of them. I've never played a game like this in VR - not only does it give props to the old school style shooter arcade cabinets of old, it literally puts you right in the game itself. Not just shooting troops, but flying airplanes, helicopters, manning gunboats, etc. This game ROCKS because it's so innovative. What's sad is that there hasn't been any activity from the team for quite some time. Even for the price point it's at now - if you are yearning for something different - just buck up and buy it. Stay away from the bundle though - the other ones are pretty meh.
Meh. If you have a fondness for the janky nature of most early VR software, you'll probably get a kick out of this. Everyone else should wait for a sale. I got it for seven bucks, and I wouldn't have paid more. The mechanics of the game are really neat, but there's some strange design choices and a general absence of polish.
This game is absolutely phenomenal. I am really enjoying it. I love the perspective a lot. It's like you're a giant army man crushing little tiny human ants. It's so comical and I love it. It's also really fun to play. The way the screen moves to the side makes it feel like an old school 90s game but the immersion bits make it feel like a VR game. It's a great combo and I am looking forward to trying to 100% this game. 9/10 must have! mew mew
