HORROR: Great PUZZLES: Great FUN: Good STORY: Good MUSIC: Good VOICE / ACTORS: Good EXECUTION: Good SUMMARY: Solid, horror, puzzle experience game, with good mechanics and immersive qualities. To me, the overall quality and execution of the game exceeds the boundaries of an "indie" game.

This is an ok game. Shooting mechanics are good for this type of game. I'm glad its not the resident evil style of shooting. Obstacles get in the way while shooting sometimes. I was shooting over a handrail at a shadow and all of the bullets just ricocheted. I was on target but it was like an invisible wall was in the way. The chase was a bit long and uncalled for. Not bad

It was a very good game. I loved everything about it except the story line was a little bit short and there was some doors that was locked and they didn't even have a key to open them. I am the type of person if i see a door i want to see what is behind that door.
Ill start my review with this, the game is still early access and yes there are bugs. The devs are listening to feedback and fixing and making changes, so keep this in mind. this is part 1 of my playthrough https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYk9VOOf-VE and part 2 ending will be uploaded tonight. Let's Start. First of all if u have played the prologue do not enter this game thinking its going to be the same. Its nothing like the prologue, the main game consists of more action, survival exploration. Pros + there is tutorials in game to explain, certain mechanics. + graphics are decent + story is good, but i recommend replaying the prologue so u can remember all the details, if u just jump into main game, u might forget alot like i did. + game has decent amount of playtime and replayability Cons + the puzzles are too complicated and should have hints ( but devs are looking into feedback to adjust this) + the save system / vending machine resource management, i had no problems with it but not everyone that plays can get perfect headshots on each monster, so u might struggle with lack of ammo ( explore everywhere) Saving requires coins each time, and the vending machine to buy ammo utilizes the same coins. + graphics can get choppy during cutscenes ( again early access and they are working on it) + no in game tracker for your documents ( so u never know how many your missing, its not a super bid deal but for myself that literally explored everywhere, i want to know how many i missed). overall i do recommend the game, i did enjoy it. I state have patience when playing and explore everywhere, the shadows do require a ton of bullets to take out. So check everywhere for your ammos. give the game a chance, and if u have any issues or need some help. Let me know
If you're looking for a horror game then this is not for you. This has very mild horror but great atmosphere and very challenging puzzles. Combat is nothing special but it doesn't seem to be the main feature of the game. I'll check back again after Early Access to see how the final game is shaped.
Decided to give this game a chance even if I dont really play this kind of games much...Incredible sound effects and somehow scary so they fit just fine, simplfied Shooting. Quite challenging puzzles that make the game even better.
Westwood Shadows delivers an atmospheric experience. For players who love good puzzles and 1st Person exploration of a good detective story it is a game for you. The combat system could be better as it doesn't add points to the whole experience (the shadows do not have attack moves and livelihood in general) However, as a whole the game is very professionaly made, the story is interesting and the atmosphere fascinating Would recommend it to first person horror fans
I enjoyed this game. It still has bugs but only twice did it stop progress. Once in the prologue (had no flashlight), and one cut-scene crashed the game, but both continued upon reloading the save. Big difficulty spikes. Most of the game the ghosts aren't a problem, at all, but the boss ghosts can wreck yer booty. Some of the puzzles can too. Overall would play again once the game is finished.
I love hunting clues and mysteries.
