This game stuck with me for a bit. Definitely one of our highlights of October horror game marathoning. If you're looking for some very creative dream world horror atmosphere and truly WEIRD moments, I cannot recommend it enough.
I played Welcome Home 2 for a bit. It's a neat game. The combat within the game is uninteresting and generally more of a temporary speedbump than any interesting challenge. Sometimes, knowing where to go can lead to frustrating wandering. However, that is where my complaints end. The atmosphere of the game is quite interesting. The designs of the monsters are quite neat, as are the environments you explore-- each themed differently. A supermarket that flicks between a fully lit but abandoned form, to a dilapidated, 'underworld' version of itself full of eerie monsters and the like. A monochrome city full of hundreds of stone statues. The most enjoyable aspect of the game to me is probably the puzzles. They strike a lovely balance in difficulty, and typically makes you feel fairly intelligent. I wish the game focused on the puzzles more. If I were to suggest something the game could do better without changing anything, it would be to make the 'analysis' ability give neat lore notions. Usually when you see an enemy, you can 'identify' them and get an idea of what their weakness is. However, very rarely does the game actually give you an idea of what they are, or what horrifying things they do. I look forward to playing more of the game, since it seems quite interesting.
Surreal art style, fever dream gameplay, mental illness plot, paranoid levels, lonely atmosphere feelings.
Truly worthwhile indie horror. Unchallenging combat, but awesome surrealist art, writing, and design with a sense of humor. If that's your thing, buy it. Thoroughly enjoying this hidden gem. Big ole recommend.
The game just couldn't keep my interest
Incredible game! I played through it in its entirety on Twitch, and it was a lot of fun! Scary, ambient, and definitely gave me more than a few jumps! Important to know that there are some ARG elements to this game, and also the ending is unfortunately a bit lackluster. I was lucky enough to be at the kindness of Will Burke who gifted me her wonderful game for free, and I loved seeing her art throughout! Definitely recommend for the price point, and I can't wait to see what she makes next!
A truly imaginative schizo-dream and a fresh reminder that it's the small actors that keep the horror genre interesting. There are a bit of unclear parts and I got frustratingly stuck twice, but all in all a great game.
Ever since seeing the first game featured on a german youtube channel known as "Corrupted", I was really fascinated with this game series. There's a lot of story scattered around the world, and I really love the one puzzle that references the first game again. From clowns to insect people, you got everything in the category horror covered. Gameplay-wise it's a solid game, that gives you different items that allow for different abilities and skills, but I do miss the cat skull from the first game
Pretty neat game with some cool art. You can find the first game on itch and the story of that one stuck with me a little more I feel but the gameplay and atmosphere in this one is much better. Definitely worth checking out.
