Way of the Samurai 4 takes place in the humble port town of Amihama during the mid 19th Century, several years after the arrival of the “black ships” from the West ended Japan’s long history of cultural isolation.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 4 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

technical difficulties aside, the game's great gameplay's fun and has some variety (styles, weapons, etc), though the difficulty is all over the place and there being less branching (and less serious) story compared to wots3 , but the game is pretty good nonetheless
Technical issues aside, it's a really fun game. If you're interested in buying, check the steam discussion and google for the launching issue solution
An older classic that was only on the PS3 HIGHLY RECOMMEND *SAMURAI RPG WITH REPLAYABILITY* WoTS4 takes place in the end of the Samurai era right before Japan finally ended their famous isolationist foreign policies, as such Japan has started to receive trade from outside its country which has both pros & cons. Step into the shoes of a nameless samurai and forge his journey and story to see which place in history will he stand? in short: its a samurai open-ended rpg with multiple endings with a psuedo - MAJORA'S MASK time system to progress the story. There are time periods throughout the day and every time you complete an activity or mission, time progresses. You have an option to choose who you help in story and you can mix interchangeably, a journal screen displays all the events in chronological order and shows their routes just like in Majora's Mask..... so you can plan all you want up until a certain path in the story where you're locked in and cant diverge. (i.e You can help the rebels for most the game then out of nowhere, suddenly switch to help the samurai gov IF IT ALLOWS in the route.) Since there are multiple endings the game by no means is a "pick-it-up-once" type of game it encourages multiple playthroughs so much so they will show all your created samurai's in the game in subsequent playthroughs with a chance to fight them giving you back the weapon you had with them. while the fighting system can be clunky half the time, the game shines in the many sword (or not ;] ) styles you can master from all the old WoTS titles as well as the new create-a-style which entails exactly that, making your own style and mixing and matching moves from others!! Story is also kinda whatever but after seeing everything you wanted too and are still playing you'll realize that half the game is also in the SIDE QUESTS and ACTIVITIES. you can do many things but the DOJO was one of the cooler ones. all in all great game to try and play but will require many hours to finally bite into the meat so I recommend you hunker down, get ready to charge, and BANZAI your way thru the end of feudal era Japan!!!!!

Its a nice trashy game just like the one i played MANY years ago (1 or 2 maybe). But this one just crashes way to much. Cant even tab out without a crash. Dunno if its a bad port or just not running on modern hardware. I think i refund it.

Peak, 10/10. The game knows what it wants to be and nails it in every way.
Still waiting for a Way of the samurai 5 ...
this is a great game. very open ended, weird gameplay. the best part about it is the sense of discovery, unlocking different styles, weapons, etc. oddly enough, the spiritual successor to this game is akiba's trip. so if you like this game and want more, and are okay with the completely different tone, give it a shot.
