For the first time in over 20 years, we are heralding the return of a much loved piece of gaming history with the classic RPG, Wasteland! Mutants. Again. Even more than there were last time: they seem to materialize out of the very grains of the radioactive desert sand. Venomous yellow eyes.

meh
Father of Post-apocalypse RPGs. Seems insanely good for a 1988 game and the story still holds well
This was the first computer rpg I played and is still my favorite. Even without fancy 3D graphics, you can't help but get immersed in the game.
I doubt you're looking to play this game for a modern and refined experience. While I can't say that it's anything I want to play for an extended period of time, I can report that it boots up on a Windows 11 PC without issue.
This game isn't even a third as good as the original Fallout. This game was first, but it shows how much Fallout 1 improved on this. What I really hate about this game is the giant carrot scenario. Dragging you to a place you have no idea how to get out of and locking you inside with animals attacking you every five moves is insanity. Healing is worst, though. So-and-so "must heal over time" is absolute crap. And Angela Deth not being able to use her medic skill to heal herself? COME ON!!! Now you see why Fallout's stimpaks were developed!
