Warmth is a short logic puzzle about finding the right arrangement of heat sources in order to satisfy certain heat requirements. The levels have a grid-like structure, with some of the tiles occupied by characters (either by a dog, a child, or a grandma), each of them having specific heat needs (for example, the grandma requires 3 heat sources around her, while the dog needs only 1). The remaining tiles can be filled with torches and camp fires that will generate heat in the surrounding cells, but must be connected with each other in order to spread the heat. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2022063707 It all boils down to applying some logical thinking and basic math, while alternating the heat sources and spreading them in all directions, but also optimizing your paths (due to the fact that you have a specific amount of torches and camp fires per level, just enough to solve the level without any leftovers). Contrary to what one might think, this is not a game in which you have to discover “developer’s solutions”; for almost each level, there are multiple solutions available and you won’t need to “guess”. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2022063317 For a mere $2, you can’t go wrong with this one, especially if you’re a puzzle fan: the gameplay is relaxing, it has cute graphics and a nice soundtrack. The only two downsides that I can think of are: the fact that it’s short (1-2h of gameplay for 64 levels) and the minor annoyance that comes from not being able to remove a specific item that you have already placed (you can undo a move, but not select a torch / campfire to delete it) - if you see an error, you have to restart the level. Warmth is a short and sweet little puzzle game. It took me just under an hour and a half to complete. There are 64 different levels of varying difficulty going from very easy to some head scratchers. The simplistic art is nice and cozy looking, and the music is also nice and relaxing and surprisingly good, it's just a shame that there's but the one track as it does get a bit repetitive after a while. While there are some quality of life improvements to be made, I definitely wouldn't mind playing more levels of this. At €1,59 it's definitely worth the money and I'm hoping this game will be successful enough that we might expect an improved sequel in the near future.
Adorable little puzzle game, plenty levels and plenty variation between levels. The art style is cute and simplistic which gives this game a pleasing aesthetic. The only thing to note is some levels later on feel easier than previous puzzles, maybe something for the developer to take note of for their next project. But overall very enjoyable! <3
made me very happy, thank you :)
A charming, relaxing little puzzle game suitable for just about anyone. Warms you up and makes you feel cozy just watching your pets, children, and grandmothers perk up and smile as you provide them with needed light and heat. Also provides the right amount of frustration as you realized--yet again--that EVERY SINGLE GRANDMA needs THREE sources of heat before she'll knit you that sweater she promised. [And honestly, you'll need the sweater because SOMEBODY has to trudge out into the darkness to get more wood for the freaking fires. Just kidding, this game isn't Don't Shiver, heh.] Pros: - cute art - moderately interesting puzzle mechanism - fun for both casual gamers and puzzle fans - Steam achievements and may eventually be cards Cons: - there should be a way to move a fire or torch if you make a mistake - [ADDED after completing all levels] the difficulty level needs a smoother progression from easy to challenging; some levels toward the very end are surprisingly easy Overall: The game is good for its price. I would buy it for friends. I wish there were more to it on higher levels, but maybe one day there will be an expansion set (I can't be alone in wanting blue alchemical fires for my shivering grannies?).
There. Everyone is warm now. Souls had been lit and egos fired up. Let's do this again. Next time.
Nice and short little puzzler (about an hour), where you have to have the right amount of lights around the characters. One big improvement for the logic part of the game would be to place the fires in any places, so you can deduct where to place the fires, because you see what fire you have to set in special places. So for that price I would recommend it.
Dude! What a chill, hidden, little gem of a game. Just pick it up. It's a clever puzzle game with a very comfortable and cozy feeling. Seriously, just pick it up.
Doge is cold, keep doge warm. Super cute puzzle game, very simplistic and short but entertaining. There is not that much to be said about this game, I have a weak spot for cute puzzle games so here we are! I like it, might be better for kids since it's on the easy side, that being said if you are like me and you just like to play this little cute puzzle games to just chill and relax then give it a try, just keep in mind that it is REALLY short.
Short, but sweet little puzzle game. It's not too difficult, it's just the right amount for me at the price. I like the gimmick of keeping cute little puppies warm while slowly introducing new mechanics and the annoying old lady who takes three fires to warm up... I only say she's annoying because she'd always be something that tripped me up on some later puzzles needing more puzzles. Too many old ladies. There's a nice build up of difficulty. It takes a break to give an easier puzzle when it's introducing a new mechanic or trying to teach you something new. I do wish they had put a bit more into the pc port with at least having more hot keys. The only one I could find was being able to unselect something with right click. Everything is done with the mouse, and it would've just been nice to have some keys to quickly undo or select a torch or campfire. And the UI is pretty ugly for pc and shows it's mobile origins. Cute visuals otherwise though. That one song is really obnoxious however. It got on my nerves after a few minutes of it repeating.
