why i didn't play this game before why it took me this long to get addicted to warhammer btw the game crashes if you use a sound card or anything besides realtek its very picky but when it works , it works really nice for an old game i love this game
Solid warhammer fun :) change of pace from dawn of war 1 but still awesome
Aside from making the game more compatible with modern hardware, there isn't really anything new here. So, for $50 I can't recommend this game. I do wish they had rolled DOW 2: Retribution and this Anniversary Edition into one big DOW 2 trilogy game launcher like BioWare did with Mass Effect 1-3 in the Legendary Edition. I say this because if you are interested in Last Stand, both the Necron and Tau heroes are absent from this "release". I will say because this is basically just a port for modern PC hardware, I am disappointed they didn't take this opportunity to add more maps to either Last Stand or multiplayer to draw even more players. This is likely because they wanted to put more content for microtransactions into Dawn of War 4 is coming out 2 months after I post this review. This game, DOW 2 Anniversary Edition (Classic), came out September 19, 2024. DOW 4 is coming out September 17, 2026. Seeing as how they are wanting to charge $50 for a 15 year old game port, and the full price of DOW 4 is standard edition is going to be $60, and the premium (commander edition) version $100 which included a year 1 battle pass I again cannot recommend buying this game. If this game goes on sale for $15 or $20 it's worth it. Otherwise pass on this Sega cash grab.
