Poorly balanced IMO. About the third map in my crew just barely won and you have to go into the next map is - your platoon isn't healed - as is. So my healer being on death's door couldn't be used or he was just going to die anyway. And trying to do any map without a healer is impossible - at least for me. Tried it about a hald dozen times and failing badly before I just gave up and uninstalled. A serious disappointment for those who were just looking for Xcom in Warhammer.
A hard but rewarding game using squad of Grey Knights instead or original games Ultramarines. Many interesting builds a la Xcom style, but the difficulty can ramp up quite fast until you reach a point where the game tests you if your squad is good enough. Without knowing what is coming its easy to fail and that means a new run, which can be frustrating. Still the game and its DLC are worth it, big praise to the Assassins DLC that can be unexpectedly overpowered in certain maps. Overall its a well done Xcom like game worth the time.
Boring, bland, lore inaccurate and most importantly! NOT Chaos Gate! Or even close to it, just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ reskinned Xcom game
制作组就是一群脑残的低能儿
Be careful buying this, the difficulty is really off here. I played this game after it appeared and loved it. On "standard" difficulty, missions were nicely balanced (maybe a bit easy). Now, DLCs have appeared and difficulty was tweaked, and on replaying on "standard" difficulty, this game is quite unbalanced, difficult and unfun. I had looked forward to replaying this from time to time, but it seems this will no longer be possible. Atmosphere, graphics and the turnbased combat per se are great, but the weird difficulty curve sours the experience. Edit: Disabling the DLC units in the menu can help a bit with the above problem but this is nowhere explained... In addition, stay clear of "protect servitor missions", these are the worst offenders in terms of bad bad balance, in addition lasting four times as long as other missions, paying less and carrying heavy risk of wounding your knights...
Recent update - which is nothing more than an advertisment for the next game! - makes the game unplayable. I am really pissed
I came back to this game after I initially lost interest in finishing when I was hardlocked into a failed campaign. I can't really recommend it, but if you like 40k turn base combat it's not terrible. The warp surge system that triggers when the meter is full isn't a bad idea, but some of the modifiers are just stupidly unfair. If you get the no healing, armor piercing and/or no teleport modifiers, it can make even the "easy" missions nearly impossible to win. The no healing warp surge especially should NOT last 3 turns, that one was an instant game over so often.
This must be a game of trial and error. Upgrades are confusingly named and described.... most likely in universe roleplay. Character weapons become useless quickly.... I needed 3 out of 4 characters to kill one minion before the other 5 minions chipped away to critically wound the entire team. You're told to press the attack because you're punished if you play defensively, but your offence is useless as all minions overwatch defensively and "long range" is useless. Storming the beaches of Normandy was a risky move, but if running into fire is programmed to be the only strategy you're given... just surrender and uninstall the stupid game.
Horribly imbalanced. This game is unforgiving in that every mistake is punished 10x. Do not play unless you have the patience of a god. shouldn't have to fight consistent waves of reinforcements with no end. Don't buy at all!
