Game was fun....until it was not. 75% of the way though the games difficulty gets turned to 100 out of 10, Made the game terrible. Wish they could of fixed that, because the game before than was AMAZING
Could have been a gem of a game but the devs mixed up hard and unfair. Almost every game mechanic is poorly designed. The fighting has almost no tactic. Enemies usually have much more health than you, more armor, they regenerate, they explode on death, they contaminate the ground, throw grenades, deny terrain with overwatch and on top they always get the 1 turn. Your knights feel like weaklings. If you like getting punished with unfair combination of enemy abilities that you cant deal with in the early game, enjoy. There are a lot of missions where the enemies and bloom effects (bloom rises EVERY turn so you have to rush) wreck your squad early on. Reinforcements come in, you get permanent debuffs for the rest of the mission (less ammo, less willpower, less health). In my case (and that made me deinstall the game now) I got 2 debuffs in a row from the bloom which cancles my Vindicae Assasins only usefull abilities out because he needs ammo for it, has 2 ammo reseve and the bloom gave me 2 times -1 to max ammo. That is poor design by choice. On the strategic layer its not much better. Random events are unfair, punish you super hard and usually have pre-requesits like a specific knight class available. Updates take forever and you have to sell your liver to get them. Together with the poor recovery time of your knights there is zero fun. Overall the basics are there but hiden behind crappy choices in game design and the game got worse with every expansion. More unfair, unwinnable missions, more stuff to spend ressources on but no new ressource sources. If you dont own this game dont buy, its not even worth 5 euros.
ehh, it's okay. Wasn't good but not the worst experience. controls and UI are clunky imo. Combat is underwhelming.
Save system sucks ass. One mis-click erased 5 days. GG I guess
It's okay game to pickup with major discount (less then 10 euros). The game feels clunky to a point of annoyance, even with the little things like lack of mini-map. Which would be helpful with some of the missions. And poor explanation of mechanics of the game, as stunning enemies doesn't even make them skip their turn, which is counter-intuitive. But instead is a opportunity for a special melee bonus. Even find little things weird like level cap being at 9, which seems rather odd number and not enough to fill the entire skill tree. So if you happen to allocate in order to build up for a specific skill, then you might have just basically wasted entire level. So now you have to either reload save or put the knight on a bench to respec it. The resource system is annoying as you can accept challenges to gain bonus resources, but you have to go huge amount of hassle for some of them. For example no grenades for a mission and if all units have grenades, so now you have to go through a LOT of tabs to remove/replace all those grenades. Also the X-COM flaws like dragging things out a bit too much with one-by-one movements and the button to accelerate doesn't speed it up enough. And you have the enemy reveal where enemies get free movement and actions when revealed and sometimes end up being really annoying, as it's entirely outside of players control. EDIT : Word of warning for those whom purchase. The tediousness of the game might have you play through entire campaign with only 4 knights. However in endgame devs decided to say "F**K you" to the player and force you to have 8 knights (2 different squads) for the first time. To make matters worse is the endgame cannot be stopped when it begins. So if you play on ironman with no manual saving then you might have screwed yourself over or alternatively have to reload a save from LONG time ago to level up and gear your reserve knights that you might not even have. I could likely still pull it off with my overpowered knights that i have. But this garbage design choice left such a bad taste that i cannot be bothered to finish the game.
The core systems are solid but the game is ruined by slowness. Every action you can take comes with a slow unskipable animation. You can not queue up new actions for a different knight while an animation is playing.
I was really intrigued by this game i really love turn-based RPG games i am a huge fan of Mechanicus and other similar games but this game... How did they get it so wrong?? If one thing i cannot stand on a game of this type it's nonsense RNG and the bloom mechanic really makes it ridiculous... there are some bloom effects that are manageable like buffing stats of enemies But then the game decides to put in a bloom event 5 giant plants all over your squad that do area damage with their attacks while u are already fighting two patrols that saw you from a mile away and got a free turn to move and shoot you right when u encounter them all while u have to kill an objective with a TON of health in 7 turns... How???... I was enjoying the game but this just feels unfair and i think the game will be far better overall if the bloom mechanic wasn't this punshing. And as far as i know (i'm not and expert) the Grey knights are supposedly one of the strongest types of space marines out there... And yet u can get deleted in 1 turn by 4 human cultist with autoguns... I don't really feel the power they supposedly have. If u don't mind suffering with RNG you could give it a try but in my case i have enough.
The game has a great concept. X-Com style strageic game with Grey knights. Amazing on paper, but this execution falls SEVERELY short of that. From the start you might enjoy it, you think its harder, but doable, but as you progress, you realize that game punishes you for playing and having fun in it. The difficulty curve spikes up wayy too high for no reason, very hard enemies swarm you extremely fast and the negative stats swamp you constantly. It takes worst parts of X-Com and builds game around them. Do not buy, Only game I ever regret buying.
不推荐,基本没剧情就是重复战斗。重复战斗无意义,我方单位数值不够,基本无角色成长。灰骑士能被僵尸打掉血? 不能一刀砍死一片杂兵?
