There are some bugs to work out, but this game has the potential to be my favorite GM sim of all time. It absolutely cannot be beaten for the price. I'm hooked!
Having played computer-based football games since the early days of Front Office Football in the early 2000s, I must say I am very impressed with the detail of WRF , especially in the short amount of time the game has been available. The depth of information is eye-opening, and, based on the first couple of updates, I can tell the creator intends to make WRF elite. My only negatives are pretty minor: as someone who values the return game, I hope there will be more emphasis placed on it while also putting it among the stats (same with kicking, punting, etc). The other is the inclusion of receivers and TEs carrying the ball. You want to put the ball into the hands of your best players, right? Otherwise, bravo. I have enjoyed playing the game thus far and look forward to watching War Room Football grow.
Overall, I am enjoying this game! I feel as though if you are looking for a relatively streamlined pro-football simulator, this is for you.
I enjoy many types of sport simulation games. This one is meant for those who enjoy sitting behind the GM's desk. You may not directly coach the players or managed the games but your decisions are truly felt at each stage of the season and off season. This is a fun game that has enough depth to allow multiple play throughs without getting bored of the mechanics or the seasonal rotation. The best part is the customization of the scouting. It can be as in depth as you want it to be and you truly feel surprise when you take a shot later in the rounds at a player with hidden stats that meets the eye test only to find out he has a high development window making him a hidden gem.
simple game for those who like taking over as a teams GM or coach
I like this game but I'm sure AI has been used in some of the coding, if you watch a game and I only do for playoffs, you will see silly discussions your Head Coach or Offensive Coordinator make a strange call on a 4th and 2, early in game on opponents 45 yard line and go for it....LIKE REALLY!!! Yes there are meant to be aspects to your staff you hire, but that is not a professional decision, even if you have an aggressive personality. Other than that, I don't have any real issues with the game, as I sim the results up until the Playoffs. I'd give in 7.5 out of 10, if you just want to be a General Manager then I guess this scratch's the itch :)
