Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 22 → 0.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Its basically Dungeon Keeper 3. Follows the formula precisely and I love it. If you hated the Dungeon Keeper series you won't like this much. But otherwise recommended for all strategy fans and dungeon crafters.
Man, what a throwback. Really feels like the old Dungeon Keeper games. No bullcrap, no false advertising, just pure good old gaming bliss. They don't make games like this no more. Highly reccommend.
War for the Overworld: The Ultimate Spiritual Successor to Dungeon Keeper 2
War for the Overworld is a spectacular love letter to classic dungeon management games, serving as the definitive spiritual successor to the legendary Dungeon Keeper 2. Developed by Brightrock Games, this title brilliantly resurrects the addictive dark humor, strategy, and underground empire-building that fans have craved for years. Instead of being the hero, you step back into the shadows as an all-powerful Underlord, carving out your domain, attracting monstrous minions, and crushing the pathetic forces of good. It is a nostalgic yet modern masterpiece that captures the magic of the golden era perfectly.
😈 Pure Dungeon Keeper 2 Nostalgia and Atmosphere
The resemblance to Dungeon Keeper 2 is uncanny and deeply satisfying. From the very first moment, you are greeted by the iconic, booming voice of Richard Ridings as the narrator, instantly setting the perfect tone of cynical, dark comedy. The atmospheric design of the underworld is brilliantly grim, filled with dark corridors, glowing lava pits, and detailed animations. The simple joy of slapping your lazy Underlings to make them dig faster or work harder returns in all its glory, making you feel right at home if you grew up loving the classic Peter Molyneux games.
🕹️ Gameplay, Construction, and Minion Management
The core gameplay loop functions exactly like the classics, but with modern refinements. You command your workers to carve out rooms from the rock, claim territory, and construct specialized chambers like Lairs, Hatcheries, Libraries, and Archives. Each room attracts a vast variety of unique creatures, from loyal cultists to brutal beasts. Balancing your dungeon’s economy, researching new sins in the "Veins of Evil" tech tree, and keeping your monsters happy with gold and food creates an incredibly engaging and rewarding management experience.
⚔️ Defending the Core and RTS Combat
Combat is a chaotic and fun mix of real-time strategy and tower defense. You can drop your creatures directly into battle using the Hand of Evil, cast devastating spells to turn the tide, or lay down intricate networks of traps and doors to turn your dungeon into a lethal gauntlet for invading heroes. The map design is clever, offering plenty of tactical options for flanking or fortifying your positions. Watching an army of holy knights helplessly trigger your traps while your monsters finish them off is endlessly satisfying.
⚠️ Drawbacks
While the game perfectly hits the nostalgia notes, the micro-management during massive end-game battles can occasionally become overwhelming and chaotic, making it difficult to select individual units. The pathfinding of your creatures, though much improved since launch, can still suffer from occasional hiccups when navigating highly complex or cluttered dungeon layouts. However, these minor technical quirks are easily forgiven given how much heart, soul, and pure fun the overall package delivers.
🏆 Conclusion
War for the Overworld is an absolute triumph that succeeds where many other modern attempts failed. It doesn't just copy the formula of Dungeon Keeper 2; it honors it, modernizes it, and delivers the exact experience fans wanted for over a decade. Whether you are listening to the legendary narration, designing the ultimate labyrinth of death, or unleashing a horde of angry monsters upon the Overworld, every second is a nostalgic joyride. It is a mandatory purchase for any strategy fan and a beautiful tribute to one of gaming's greatest sub-genres.
Rating: 9/10
This is just modern day Dungeon Keeper, a game that I play for countless hours during my childhood. This game perfectly captures that nostalgia for me. If youre a fan of the old Dungeon Keeper games and want something modern thats not going to look terrible on a modern display, this is the game for you!
____________________________________________________ Hello Overlords, This game is especially interesting for those who know the old Dungeon Keeper games – so, kids of the 80s or 90s. Alongside the game Dungeons, War for the Overworld is one that takes itself a bit more seriously. While Dungeons 2–3 goes for a more comedic tone and doesn’t take itself too seriously, War for the Overworld feels much closer to the classic Dungeon Keeper games: darker, more serious, and perfect for embracing your evil side. If I had to point out one negative aspect (for me personally), it’s this: There is no German voice-over. (Just to be clear: I’m only talking about the voice acting.) The game itself is available in German, but the voice lines – which, just like in the original Dungeon Keeper, are frequent and important – are entirely in English. I think it was the same in the original back then, and it already bothered me there. I see it with a laughing and a crying eye: Laughing because it makes the game more authentic and closer to the original. Crying because it handicaps me a bit – my English is far from perfect, so I struggle to understand everything. (And yes, the English version of this review was created with ChatGPT. :D) My verdict: A solid 8 out of 10 points.
A great spiritual successor of the great DungeonKeeper 2 before EA effed it up.
Dungeon Keeper.
I bought this game back in 2018, nack when I was in desparate need for another Dungeon Keeper game. Now in 2023 I have to say, I love this game and think it's a great way to experience my favourite series (That's been dead for years, thanks EA) as a fangame. Of course the workshop is great and it makes me come back to it for more but the main game aside from its threee DLCs, one that takes about 5-6 hours to beat and the other that can just be replayed about 8 times for achivements, the game 100% needs either a sequel or a next main story DLC. I recommend it to anyone for sure.
