Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate

I just finished this game, and I’m going to start with what an ambitious game. It is rare to find full fledged games in VR that are not horror or fps or some kind of dungeon crawler. It’s even more rare to find one that is a fully fleshed story and isn’t made by a large studio. This game checks all those boxes. The graphics are amazing, and also why this game doesn’t quite get the best reviews. Certain sections of the game are clearly not well optimized for pcvr. I am running a Alienware M18R2(2024) with abl mobile 4090, intel 14900hx and 64 gigs of 5600 speed ram. My pc is connected to ether Ethernet and my quest 3 is on a dedicated 6E band and I play 5 feet from the router. Even I got hit with the unoptimized bug in Germany and had to play the game on potato settings to keep it from spiking my vram and crashing. To be clear this did not happen on my first run through of that chapter. (I restarted it because I thought I had missed something) The first time I ran it and to be clear for the remainder of the game I ran it at max settings and 90fps with no issues and man it was gorgeous. From reading I’m thinking I was hit with a possible partial corrupted saved and because of how far in the game I was only choice was to nuke the graphics. If you like beautiful games and were a fan of quantum leap, buy this game. It’s great. Yes it is not bug free, but for a smaller studio to pull this off, is pretty amazing and it was worth me going through the slight pain at the end, normally of a game does that I uninstall it. If you have a choice get the psvr2 version (I had the option and didn’t because I like being cordless). It sounds like the game is better optimized there. I highly recommend the game as it is unique and well executed and the devs clearly put tons of thought into the story. The fighting is not the strength of this game, beware of that. The strength is in the graphics and story telling.

Bugs, bugs, bugs, and some more bugs..... I didn't see anything from the devs in the discussions. As many others, I will stop playing, keeping an eye on update. If any... The first game was great, I really enjoyed it. I then bought this one without looking at comment, what a mistake! Many parts of this new version are very very similar to the first game, but the new content is looking promising. If only it was normally playable.

A pretty damn good remake with some annoyances. If you've played the first one, this one is that plus more. PROs -Visual updates, Expanded areas, new gear/weapons, enemies, better mechanics, and more. -One of the flaws of the first is if you lose an item or bugs out you have to restart from a checkpoint, this fixes that by introducing a tool to respawn items which helps in many ways. -The story is pretty much the same but the time eras are expanded and provided more story, exploration, items, weapons, etc. -Puzzles are good, combining knowledge between worlds and figuring out what to use where. Cons - The AI is meh, they take one shot to die (not sure if intentional), don't move much, and just behave basic. - The grabbing of parkour can be annoying sometimes, you have to specifically grab ledge to ledge, so you cant go to far, its like a sequence you have to go through instead of skipping grabs, annoying as if you go quickly, can just miss and Die. I would get this game with the bundle of Lies of Rain, as that game is good as well for a discount. 8/10, Don't get the first if you haven't played any, just get this one.

Я играл в оригинальный Wanderer по-этому сравню с ремейком. Добавили полноценные прыжки, механику карабканья в определенных местах, и механику плавания то есть полноценное иммерсивное перемещение. Расширили локации. Добавили новых головоломок. Переделали и/или переозвучили некоторые сцены. Сделали абсолютно полноценную для любого экшена боевую систему: тут тебе и рукопашка, и оружие ближнего боя, и оружие дальнего боя от лука до огнестрела (огнестрел со стабилизацией). Сделали стелс механики. Теперь у игрока есть тело а не только летающие руки. Сделали систему привязки предметов перемещающих во времени к часам. Улучшили графику. В общем игра получилась очень навороченной. Но есть и минусы, иногда багует физика предметов, пропорций тела (из-за чего тебя может неплохо так швырнуть куда-нибудь) и игра периодически вылетает. По итогу игра могла стать одной из лучших в VR за все время, но технические проблемы смазали впечатление.

Played the original when it came out. It was fantastic. Had some jank around the controls and the combat but all in all, breathtaking for that time, in terms of graphincs, story, length... This one is supposedly a further improvement but I may never know because I practically can't play it. Crashes, slide show of a frame rate, sound audible only in the Horizon Link menu when the game is in the background and not in the game itself... cannot recommend.

个人给予这部作品 7.0/10 分，属于“中规中矩”的范畴 +极具创意的题材设定 +穿越年代的众多可互动道具 +难度尚可的谜题设计 -众多影响体验的bug -过少且质量欠佳的战斗体验 这是一部主打穿越时空解谜的VR作品，游戏的题材令人眼前一亮。虽然Steam预告片里展示了不少战斗内容，但实际上14小时的通关流程中，战斗大约只有1小时，其他时间都在解谜和攀爬，所以主要推荐给解谜爱好者，VR战斗爱好者可以直接忽略。 游戏中玩家追寻祖父的脚步，使用科技力量穿越多个时空，并从末世结局中拯救全人类。游戏特色在于时空穿越几乎是无延迟的，玩家们可以迅速在接近10个时间线中穿梭，并在每个时间线中扮演不同角色来共同解谜。在古代玛雅文明、二战时期、冷战时期、1980s、未来等年代中，玩家可以接触到海量符合时代的道具，并且将其携带到另一时空使用，例如端着MP40冲锋枪与手持长矛的玛雅战士战斗等。 游戏的谜题设计大部分都在线，既可以让玩家思考，又没有难到让人卡关，许多关卡都像大型的密室逃脱。本作最大的问题在于bug过多，多到让人玩起来非常痛苦。例如穿越时间的操作，玩家进入另一时空会有一个被刷出来的感觉，经常会腾空落地摔死或者被周围物品卡住，只能重新传送；有时候捡到的任务物品会莫名其妙消失；有时候任务物品无法从背包中取出，一取出玩家模型就飞天遁地摔死了；此外游戏闪退极其频繁，非常影响体验。

Honestly this game is hard to recommend cause it has so much good and so much bad about it but I think the good out weights the bad. First off the shoot aint that good at all, you aim with both hands which does not work well at all, for the longest time i didnt know that and my aim was terrible cause i was only aiming with my right hand like every game should not both. The story and set pieces are pretty good, I got no complaints about them. But what makes this game really hard to recommend more than anything is the puzzles, they super frustrating at times, I had to look up a guide for some of them. I dont know if im stupid or the game is, but its just does puzzels in such a weird way to where its almost impossible to figure out without a guide, you really have to think outside the box for them. Lastly the drum sequence is probably the best part of the game, it plays some good music while also being fun. Its kinda like rock band or guitar hero but in vr. OVERALL WOULD RECOMMEND ATLEAST TRYING A HOUR OF IT IF UNSURE and if you dont like that first hour just quit.

Haven't even got through the very first part of the game and already ran into a game stopping bug. I was hoping when I bought this I'd be different. ...meh... This game is abandoned. So don't throw your money away on this.
