In a time where VR games are a dime a dozen, this is definitely one to pick up! This puzzle game is not a one-trick pony by only giving the player a couple of simple mechanics and the same puzzle but somehow different. The challenges evolve with new mechanics and new road blocks that coalesce into a difficult but fun experience. Even after I would solve a puzzle room I found myself going back just to get that perfect score! The real cherry on top was the cryptic office environment and wacky characters that gave the game life. No spoilers but I definitely recommend exploring every nook and cranny for a good laugh. I've only played about 3 hours but I will certainly be back to destroy more data disks!!!
UPDATE: Devs have indeed fixed the game. Changing my review to positive. As stated, this was an enjoyable game without the bugs. Now that they've been fixed, it's an easy recommendation from me, especially if you love puzzle games / time manipulation type puzzle games. See my new video here: https://youtu.be/LdGcWLQuNGA
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/uZZ3U7OFRRs I was enjoying this game. I asked myself how this game had no reviews on the Steam store. Then I played the very next level and came across a game-breaking bug. Basically, you make a recording of yourself first then time shift to another spot and work together. The game-breaking bug was that the recording did not record everything I had done like it had done in the previous levels. Unfortunately, that ended my gameplay. It's a shame. It's a nice little puzzle game. It's obviously Portal inspired with a mix of Transpose, We are one, and The Last Clockwinder. It definitely has charm. I was having fun. The difficulty started off at a beginner level, but it was slowly ramping up in difficulty. Then the game fell apart at the seams. Game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting mostly 90 fps, although I did notice a few micro-stutters, but nothing serious. You have full locomotion, teleportation, smooth, and snap turning available. You can play comfortably seated. There's even a pro mode that picks up the pace in between the puzzles. Unfortunately, I would say this is a wait for a fix before buying recommendation. As such, I need to give this a negative recommendation until the bugs are ironed out. I hope the devs do fix the bugs, because this seems like it would be an otherwise enjoyable puzzle game to add to the list of good VR puzzle games. it's a fun, challenging puzzle game that makes you think outside the box! The atmosphere is engaging, the puzzles are difficult but not impossible, and the story draws you in!
If you like puzzle games then this is the game for you. Chrono Weaver makes you use your brain to get through these puzzles. The characters in the game are great and The voice actor is also quality. The devs are also looking at all bugs and fixing the issues ASAP.
