SO FUN! I loved this game, played it nonstop for about 3 days straight until getting to the ending. The 1-bit art style is fantastic. The game pays homage to the Oregon Trail games without feeling like a re-make. Overall tone/mood of this game is unique in a way that I didn't know I was craving so desperately. I love how it's relatively easy to get the hang of without a lengthy tutorial, but it doesn't hold your hand and gives you plenty to piece together on your own--It feels like the creator trusts their audience, and I appreciate that. I would absolutely love to see more historically-set games with the same style and mechanic; I think it would lend well to a pirate theme, a medieval setting, maybe even a Stone Age survival game--No pressure, of course, just throwing some ideas out there ;) Definitely going to keep an eye out for more games from this developer.
Very Good game! The pixelated, de-saturated visuals, and eerie audio fill you with a sense of foreboding. I constantly have a feeling that something terrifying is going to happen any moment. Absolutely love the lack of a hand-holding tutorial. Your only guide is a book with crafting recipes. Meaning you have to discover everything else about the game mechanics for yourself. My only complaint is the jerky camera movements, the camera only uses cardinal directions as positions. meaning the camera will just rapidly turn 90 degrees with seemingly no transition frames. This does add to the overall feeling of the game, but it makes me feel a little motion sick. Luckily the camera does not move very often.

Great take on a survival card-based, Oregon Trail inspired game - with puzzles around the camp and wagon that remind me of Inscryption. Fairly difficult to get going and doesn't hold your hand too much, but manages to be fair in spite of that. Looking forward to playing more, and figuring out what other secrets this game has, as I've barely even scratched at
the Occult angle
, but looking forward to seeing what it uncovers!
100% one of my favorite games atm!
Fun romp through eldrich america with little secrets sprinkled in. Could use some QoL and pacing polish but otherwise an inspired game.
The game is fun but is missing a lot of quality of life things. And the crafting book could be better implemented. (I click an item in there to learn how to craft but it takes me to a different page and shows me what I can use the item for instead of you know how to craft the missing resource.) After pressing escape you can either quit the game or continue. Where is the restart option? Especially when you have a rough start. Anyways game is cool but just needs more time to cook. I refunded the game and will buy it once it receives some more updates
"I think I see a theme here. Naw, I really think I do. Let me just go ahead and use my patented Tron-Bunk kit real quick to sort this out. Yeah. Yes, I see. Oh, that's righteous, that's good. Ah, there it is. It's clear now, I've got it." "Everybody moves ♥♥♥♥♥♥' slow! Everybody moves really ♥♥♥♥♥♥' slow!" -Jontron, 2012 There is absolutely no reason for anything in this game to take even a quarter as agonizingly long as it does to do absolutely everything. Half of my playtime was simply sitting there waiting silently with absolutely nothing happening because every single animation and line of dialogue has a twelve hour pause between them for absolutely no reason at all. And a quarter of the rest was waiting through those animations. Both of these, naturally, are unskippable. I cannot say the same for the actual dialogue, however, as that can be skipped... very, very, very, very easily, before it's had time to even render, much less be noticed, no matter how important it is to knowing how to play the game on a basic level. And that's not even getting into the actual gameplay, for what tiny fraction of my playtime was spent there. I can't speak to how well balanced or intricate or what have you it is, but I can tell you what it isn't: satisfying. It somehow manages to take moving cards around on a table, an almost inherently satisfying process that carries so many other games of its ilk (even Cultist Simulator, which doesn't do a great job of justifying the use of this format) and make it... just plain unpleasant. The feel of moving them around simply isn't good, partly because it's weirdly imprecise and never feels like the cards are shifting around the way they should be. Combined with the jarring and poorly balanced sound design, and art that feels like it's trying to be heavily stylized but never quite manages to feel like a coherent vision, with a real anti-synergy with the flat out badly designed UI elements... none of these things are small on their own, and all together it adds up to an experience that very rapidly drained all enthusiasm I had for playing it.
Wagon is a very atmospheric 1 bit survival game heavenly inspired by the Oregon trail yet with a eldritch flair that does not hold your hand. A very show don’t tell game. I loved the heavy folk horror atmosphere with the interface being a spooky wagon where you lay the cards on the floor while you play a survival card game with a haunted doll. A little unintuitive but I think that’s a part of the charm, with crafting and harvesting resources all feeling like some sort of eldritch ritual. A hidden gem that will stay with you for awhile long after you played it.
absolute shame this didnt blow up. i have so far enjoyed jumping right in and figuring everything out one piece at a time. beautiful game, great ambience. pour out a milk for all these pioneers i definitely will not get killed
decent game, merges the fun part of stacklands with the mystery aspect of inscription, though the story and inscryption aspects copuld be a bit more flushed out imo. overall fun if not short management roguelike.
