Man this sucked. You can feed, play fetch and put waba to bed. This is all accomplished in 5 minutes. Then you stand around awkwardly thinking I paid $5 for this and that was it ????
This game is great! I have never written a review, but I think now is the time. Pros: -Waba is super fun to play with. You really do feel like you are touching it. He feels alive and has emotions. -The animations are beautiful and fluid. -The inventory/environment/tool system is very intuitive and takes an original approach with the user pulling on a string on their glove to open it. What other game has that? -The art style is very simple and lightweight as seen in the videos/screenshots, -It is a relaxing experience. I fell asleep in my chair chilling with my Waba. -The developer is SUPER nice and receptive to feedback and has a very large vision for- and commitment to- Waba. Waba has been in development for over three years, and Edwon wanted to make sure he had it polished before he put it up on Steam. Go join the Discord and chat with him! -Waba is only $5. A Big Mac will not make you smile as much, and Waba does not come with the guilt and regret after eating one. Cons: - At the time of this review (day of release) Waba makes a lot of repetitive noises. Edwon is working on it already. - There is not a lot of content in the game at this point, and this will change over time. Do not forget this is an early access game made by one person. The creation of animations, code, and models takes time. It is coming. I would recommend buying this game. Watch it grow. Be part of it. While you wait for additions, play with your new best friend, Waba. People who do want pets but do not have time or a place for them should definitely buy this game. I found myself grinning behind my headset the whole time. Also, I am editing this to let WMR users know that I bit the bullet not knowing if it would work, and the game works great on my Dell VIsor.

OUTDATED REVIEW: [strike] TRASH GAME LITERALLY 3 MINUTES OF CONTENT AND THE DEV SAID THEY WOULD UPDATE THE GAME AND 3 YEARS LATER WE AINT GOT NOTHING. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TRASH LMAO [/strike] Edit July 28, 2022: Coming back to this to update this review. The game was a lot of fun for about 5 minutes and is perfect for showing the capabilities of a vr pet game. However i still would not recommend ever buying this unless you are rich and can blow money on it. I would love to see an update to this game however, this is most likely never happening. Overall, it was enjoyable for a one time small experience, but if you are looking for a tamagotchi pet type game this is not it.
Is this still being developed? I see another poster asked aboutthe color changing feature demonstrated in the game video, and that was back in July. Is that ( and any other) feature still in the works? I'll give it a sad do not reccomend, as it is cute for kids, but it's not feature complete and it doesn't seem like it's being worked on.
There's just nothing here, this "game" has about 3 minutes worth of gameplay before you've done it all. You'll get more value and entertainment out of any of the VR short films for sale on Steam. The screenshots show everything there is to see/do in this game; throw a ball, feed it, put it to sleep. The animations and physics are not anything interesting. I think I've learned an important lesson about reviews on Steam based on my decision to buy this: don't trust positive reviews with less than an hour of play time endorsing a game. 1/10 - I asked for a refund after 10 minutes.
2 Minute Video Review → https://youtu.be/zPi8aSTwsi0 The game Waba is about spending time with an adorable little creature of the same name. At the very beginning the game attaches glove hands to your controllers. After you’re directed to hatch an egg the Waba appears before you. You’re free to push, squish, or pet Waba however you like and Waba seems to enjoy it all. Engaging with Waba this way with the motion controllers feels surprisingly real, it’s quite adorable and easy to enjoy. On your left hand is a pullout string menu that gives you three environments to summon. The first one is about feeding Waba food, the 2nd is a game of fetch with you throwing the ball and Waba retrieving it, and the 3rd is about rocking Waba to sleep. And that’s all there is to it. I have to admit that playing with Waba is fun and relaxing. It’s quite adorable and easy to love. But it’s a little overpriced at $5. I wish it was cheaper, or there was more to do with Waba. I think you know already if this is something you would enjoy. Keep in mind there isn’t much content in here, but it’s a very well made cuddly pet simulator.
It's really cute, I'm looking for more interaction options!
Perfect for age 5+ and for those who just want to zone out and relax with a very tolerant pet. Waba's physics can give you a giggle sometimes, and other times might not do what you expect. Just be patient with it. There are currently only 3 activities, but we're looking forward to updates. A question: We saw in the store video that you can change waba's color, but we can't find that feature in our version. Can someone help us find it? Will updating the app help? An Idea: My kid on her second day playing said "i wonder what color waba i'll get today" when waba was about to hatch. Maybe this could be a fun feature to have, a different surprise color when waba hatches, but also include the ability to change its color result afterward, in case i get orange and don't prefer orange for example. Just an idea.
It's charm is a bit hard to convey without experiencing it in VR. From an aesthetic point-of-view, Waba is seriously so cute and cuddly. But it is truly the interaction and physicality of the experience that really makes Waba shine. Really excited to see how the game progresses. It is already on a great path.
Thats the cutest virtual Pet that i have ever seen and i want to cuddle it not only in the virtual world rather in real world :D While this is the first VR-Pet (which i know and like) and also the mainfunctions have: feed, play, sleep, i can recommend that game. But i want to like that the developer adds stats to the game, so that we can see when the Waba is hungry/tired ... also i can imagine to wash the Waba or get medic when it is ill. I wish that it hase functions like a Tamagotchi (Device of the 90s) or Pou (Android-App) has.
