Love this demo...it is a demo with gaming aspects. Patiently awaiting the updates via the road map...which are absolutely no where near where the road map suggests according to dates. Still couldn't wait for native VR implementation so due to the demo/ game running on Unreal engine I used UEVR mod and hey presto VR implementation achieved. Absolute game/ demo changer. The difference in scale is unbelievable and when you first encounter the bow looming out of the darkness.. breathtaking.
The clarity that I gained for the scale of the wreck is something that I never thought I would get. If you are looking to see the ship play on easy first. Even though I like WWII history, the Bismarck doesn't really interest me. The Britannic would be the logical next edition in my opinion. It's so intact and similar to the Titanic. I would think mapping in it's 400' depth would be a walk in the park even with the Greek Govt. and owner meddling.

This is an incredible piece of software, as a game it is ok. I've put a few hours into this and it is so interesting to see how to wreck looks, and what damage was inflicted. Hopefully the debris field is just as good. The only main complaints are the AI voices and the lack of free roam option, other then those it is very impressive.
[Ignore the whiny community, they don't know how amazing it is to even have this] Amazing way to explore the wreck of the titanic, with added support for the controller and the stern, it shows that Magellan are committed to making this a fun way to explore their scans. There are a few things that need ironing out (text duplication, not fitting in UI boxes, controller support in menus) but overall worth the purchase to support these guys and to actually experience the titanic wreck in an interactive way. Hope to see options for higher resolution scans as DLC to make out details like the plaques, or some more explanation/narration of the ship, hopefully the team can make these popular requests happen!
Dead game. Shouldn't even be a game, just a tech demo. I just want to explore the wreck freely, with different lighting options such as daylight & realistic pitch-blackness. I can't take the time limit, the constant sonar pinging sound, and piloting an elephant-sized toaster. Hasn't been an update in a very long time. Discussions forum is completely dead. The roadmap that was posted is full of things that no one even wants. The game was made by people who have never been in the same room with a console, like my grandma. She thinks games all still look like Pong & you collect points. Please, Magellan... unlock this game and give us more options. People who buy this game just want to explore the wreck. We don't want time limits or objectives. Thank you for doing these scans, but I want to explore them with 100% resolution in it's true pitch-black environment.
With all due respect to the creators and thankful for their efforts to make this program, I am still really dissappointed in the quality. Either make it a game, or make it interactive informative for the Titanic-enthousiasts. Now you have neither, and it's pretty annoying to have to use a rover, while I personally couldn't care less about a "game" content. It's just too tragic a story. But the graphics are the true dissapointment for me. I watched our friend Mike Brady demonstrate it in his brilliant podcasts, and after he mentioned this was only 10% of the actual available quality, I interpreted that (my mistake), as that the commercial version would show all the details. Especially after seeing the History Hit podcast with the HD details and whole debris-field, i thought that they used that too. I was wrong, and I would never have spent this money if I knew this. While i love to submerge every now and then to visit the ship, it's not at all what I hoped it would be. Let's hope there will be a new release, updates or DLC's for all I care, but this is nowhere near what Titaniacs would love.
Fantastic game for anyone interested in the Titanic. The chance to see it and explore at your own leisure. I would recommend it for others to play what is available which is the bow section. I'm not sure if Magellan has abandoned the project or not as they did promise the stern but we have yet to see any more updates. As it is you can explore the stern completely and without any glitches or game crashes in my experience. In short, lovely game as is, but would be nice to see some updates and more content as they promised.
I strongly suggest starting/playing this game on the hardest difficulty and in first person mode. You can change it in the options menu at any time. I say this because the easier difficulties spoil the surprise of having having the Titanic emerge from the black abyss and engulf your whole screen. This never gets old to me, still gives me shivers every time.
i really love how you can change the lighting and very realistic detail 10/10
The level of detail in vROVpilot: TITANIC is absurd. A couple of years after the Titanic's wreck was discovered by Bob Ballard and Jean Louis Michel, French explorers with IFREMER went back to the wreck aboard the submersible Nautile (as reported by Samuel Pence of the Historic Travels YouTube channel), and they wanted to get images of the Titanic's nameplate on the port side of the bow section. To do so, they bought a cheap broom, brought it down to the wreck, and used their submersible's robot arm to dust the rusticles off the nameplate, got their images, then left the broom sitting on the port side of the forecastle deck. YOU CAN SEE THE #$%@ BROOM IN VROVPILOT: TITANIC. THAT is how exceptional the detail in this game is. If you're a Titanic enthusiast, GET THIS GAME. You will NOT be disappointed.
