About
Step inside a masterpiece with VR Painting: Time—a groundbreaking journey where art and technology converge in full room-scale virtual reality. This isn’t just a painting on a wall; it’s a living, breathing world you can walk through, explore, and interact with.
Immerse Yourself in a New Dimension
Imagine being shrunk down and woven into the very fabric of a canvas. As you traverse this abstract realm, the concept of spacetime unfolds before you. Is VR spacetime the same as the one we know, or does it demand an entirely new perspective? Every corner of this immersive world invites you to question, wonder, and experience art in a revolutionary way.
Interactive Art at Your Fingertips
Dynamic Elements: Engage with responsive physics particles and shimmering orbs that react to your every movement. Simply move your controller near these elements to see them come alive—or pick them up, toss them, and watch the magic unfold.
Therapeutic Journey: Paired with calming ambient sounds, this experience is designed to offer a soothing escape—a place to relax, meditate, or simply explore the limitless possibilities of a virtual painting.
Seamless VR & Non-VR Experience
Whether you’re equipped with a VR headset or prefer a traditional keyboard and mouse, VR Painting: Time adapts to your mode of play. Launch with SteamVR for a fully immersive adventure, or enjoy a non-VR version using WASD controls (note: flying is available only in non-VR mode). A smooth teleportation system ensures easy navigation and minimizes the risk of VR sickness.
A Series of Transformative Artworks
This experience is the first in a series of three VR paintings that reimagine the boundaries of contemporary art. While VR Painting: Time is a meticulously pre-made work crafted for your enjoyment, it offers you a unique chance to own and immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind piece of virtual art—yours to experience now and forever.
Embrace a new way to experience art. Step into the painting, and let the journey redefine your sense of time and space.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/rWLXoCDeEtA This is a magical VR art experience that I highly recommend. However, it is not for everyone. Despite the store page video showing interactions & being able to fly around ... I was not able to do that. I'm not sure if it's available in this version, but I wasn't able to grab anything anything. I also was not able to use anything other than nodal teleportation that needed a huge room-scale in order to reach certain nodal spots. If flying is available, I have no idea how to do that as I did try using every single button on my motion controllers to no avail. The other big issue is optimization. I was getting variable frame rates from 30 to 90 fps on my RTX 3080. There are no settings available of any kind. While the low frame rates were annoying, it really didn't effect the enjoyment of the art world. Keep in mind, there is no gameplay. You simply explore the art world and enjoy the art. To that end, this is a truly magical experience in VR. The art world is amazing to explore. It is massive and there is so much to take in. It's almost like a living, breathing art planet. I really enjoyed the art and the artist is very talented. I do highly recommend this app. I do hope that flying is available like shown in the video. I also hope interactions like the one shown in the video are available, but again, I couldn't grab anything. Anyways, please support the Arts and artists and buy it like I did. [b]Rate ?/10. VR Painting: Time is a paid VR experience. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. You are in an art work looking around and teleporting around. The music is ok. Not sure, if this is worth paying 5 dollars for. Plenty of other VR art experiences out there for free that look like this. I got a free key for this from the Steam Curator program.
