Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/2KuxzTv6Rz0 This is one of the most innovative nature walking simulators in VR. It has procedurally generated forests which are infinite. Every other "walk in the woods" app that I have played has had an artificial boundary, this app has removed that boundary. You can get lost in the woods. This app has made the dream of the Star Trek holodeck a reality. Currently, you only have the forest seed. However, there is an almost infinite variation to the forest with different topography (elevations) and vegetation. There are many different tree species and sizes, along with different grass & shrubs, rocks, mushrooms, branches, and even floating pollen & falling leaves. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting an average of 89 fps. You do have full locomotion and snap turning only. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs, however, I did see some graphical glitches. Those graphical glitches included some pop-in, some jaggies in the distance on the edge of objects (poor anti-aliasing?), & a weird glowing white line on the ground. Despite the issues, walking through the forest was the one of the most immersive experiences I have ever had in VR. I got lost in the woods. I have never experienced that before in VR. While this isn't the best looking or sounding VR relaxation app / nature walking sim, it looks & sounds realistic enough to be totally immersed. Rate 9/10. I paid only $2 USD on the steam release sale, turns out this is one of the most innovative apps in VR.
If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator Group. I love it so far. I got to walk an hour before I reach the woods here in RL and with this I'm able to take fifteen minutes off and relax in a virtual forest in an instant, no matter the weather or temperatures outside. Even though there aren't any special places to find, this just invites to explore the paths. Oh, and there are mushrooms to find. I'm really looking forward to future features!
_______________________________________________________________________ The purchase was definitely worth it. A walk in the forest, switch off and let the soul dangle - without worrying about travel, weather or other planning. You can immerse yourself incredibly well and get your head free. I can well imagine that this can also contribute positively to pain management or depression. (Whereby one should of course get professional help in such cases).
Nice soothing and relaxing. Really good alternativ for a short trip into the woods.
beautiful and relaxing. ASMR like walk through the woods.
Played with the Oculus Quest 2 with no issues. Very peaceful and a great way to relax. Keep in mind that this is early access and it is limited at this time of this review as to what you will see. More to come. The sounds of animals and insects are a wonderful addition. I give it a thumbs up 👍
Tolle Grafik. Man kann wirklich entspannen. Wenn jetzt noch Waldduft aus dem PC strömen würde... ;) Auf jeden Fall eine Empfehlung
If you're unable to enjoy real nature, this is a good substitute, esp if you're lazy AF. There isn't much else beyond what you see in the preview. While I think this game should be listed as $1.99, its current price of $2.99 (Aug 2023) isn't horrible.
Mathematical Implosion - The game claims you can have 'infinite' environment but current there's only 1 available - they say it right on the screen. What is infinity -1? Infinity. So the game is missing an infinite amount of content. I bought this game 3 years ago and there is still only environment. You can play that one environment or randomly choose from the 1 environment. Find a review where someone has played a full hour. You won't, because there's not enough content to keep you playing for a whole hour. The engine/graphics aren't bad at all. But releasing one environment in 3 years - yeah. These guys left and no one noticed or cared. I just came across this game in my library the other day and saw the 'infinite' environments claim and couldn't let it pass.
