Reviews
Experienced on the Meta Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/E_9yARlUEeM This is absolutely one of the best "nature walking" simulators (even though it is technically an urban landscape) or tourist apps in VR. The near photo-realism and attention to detail here is jaw-dropping. This would be second only to actually visiting Japan. Keep in mind, this is simply an app where you walk around, explore, & enjoy the beauty. There are no interactions of any kind. There is no gameplay element. There are some reviews that mention this as an "asset cash grab" or "asset-flip." That is simply not true. This developer is selling his assets on the Unity asset store and Unreal asset store. However, since the developer created them, the dev is free to sell them as his own creations. It's called capitalism and there's nothing wrong with it. Keep in mind, I doubt this dev made lots of money on Steam selling this app, so he's probably just trying to recoup some of his investment. I'm not sure why anyone would criticize the dev for doing that. Some reviews mention that this game is not worth the money. Well, of course, that is subjective. However, for me, I bought this game on a VR bundle on Indiegala (6 games for $5 USD). I regret not paying full price on Steam. This is a unique experience on Steam and is worth the asking price. You can tell a lot of hard work & time went into creating this experience. See my video for more details on this. App is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. You do have full locomotion & teleportation, as well as smooth & snap turning. I did not experience any major issues or bugs. Lastly, I will say that even though the dev calls this a 3 minute experience, it was a more than a 30 minute experience for me, fully exploring all the spaces and enjoying them in morning, evening, & night cycles (which change several details). Rate 8/10. This is an underrated gem. It is a MUST buy for VR. Please support the dev (I do not personally know the dev, I just think it's sad this experience didn't get more support).
If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator Group.
why so long don't fix the index controllers Supported? index controllers can't move has been while, why don't fix?
For the asking price, this is a fair experience, it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to see it all. I really enjoyed how detailed everything is, and how the mood and ambient sounds change depending on the time of day, I wish there was far more of this
The game delivers on the author's promise, "Enjoy a 3-minute walk in Japan!" So much of the negative reviews hinge on the price. I got it ultra cheap as part of a VR bundle and it was one of the gems in the bundle. I've been inside multiple times when I just need to empty my head and enjoy a meditative moments. I wish there was more, more painting scrolls which would not have been that much work on the author's part as the rooms are very empty.
too short like 10 minute
